I have stayed at this hotel several times over the year and respected Senor Alex. So I called them a month in advance and made a reservation. When I showed up, the man who took the call denied that he'd spoken with me and would not even open the door to speak with me. He treated me as a warito.

Lived there for a month in 1986.At Maya Coz.Hotel. moved to house,lived in coz.6yrs. Loved staying here.clean,safe,location,after 23 yrs..hubby and I plan to go for 20yr.anniversary,this sept.09'Cant get them to answer phone.I want to go like the oldie days!Cheap,simple,bikes,dive,eat at locals hang out. We have stayed at the Maya Cozumel from 1 to 2 weeks a year for about 16 years, it is an old Mexican style hotel, nothing fancy, a place to sleep and drink a few brews and tell tall tales. It is kept very clean.
As divers we found it quite suited our purposes. We have never had anything stolen...
