I visited Ixchel Beach Hotel with girlfriends this spring and found the experience to be absolutely delightful. The rooms were tastefully decorated and very comfortable, including the oversized bed and couches. Lots of room to "spread out" with four women. Ixchel was awesome! Very nice accommodations, nicely appointed kitchen, lots of room, best hotel shower EVER, comfy bed, expansive balcony, lovely view, friendly staff, within walking distance of almost everything. We stayed in the 1st building on the ground floor with an enormous patio and direct access to the pool and beach. Fantastic kitchen which we used frequently and well-supplied with everything you would need to cook meals. Bed was comfortable and bathroom/shower area really big and luxurious! The Ixchel is a little more expensive than I usually choose or vacations, but it was worth it. (Though Ixchel is relatively expensive for Isla, it's far cheaper than any beachfront hotel you'll find in Cancun). Wonderful staff, ideal location and to die for beach. Couldn't of asked for more. The one and only complaint was that as the bride and the groom, we apparently were responsible for our 50 guests that stayed here.
