We stayed here for our honeymoon. The hotel is beautiful, the room was spacious with an indoor shower and an outdoor bathtub. We loved the restaurant (we had the prix fixe dinner). The best part was that when we ordered room service the second night (after the aforementioned dinner), the food quality was the same and even plated similarly. The... More

Great hotel, very quaint and yet sophisticated. Loved the shower/outdoor tub combination... great idea! ... and the air conditioning actually works! Good bed although it creaks and sounds... free internet, good breakfast... what else can you ask for? ... well, a bit noisy (room 7) since it's next to the rooftop bar!

We had 4 nights at Rosas y Xocolate. The position of the hotel and its design and decor are excellent. We had a problem with our room on the first night as the aircon was too strong and noisy. The management eventually moved us the next day and we were happy with our second room. Great bathrooms and facilities. The... More

LOVED the public spaces of this beautifully remodelled and restored historical mansion. The outdoor courtyard of the restaurant is particularly lovely -- and the quality of the food was excellent. The quality of the free included breakfast was far superior to a typical continental breakfast, and dinner was great too. The concept of this hotel cannot be beat. There were... More

R&X is a superb choice for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Gourmet food at affordable prices and relaxing environment. We were greeted by the owner and all we had to say were good things. They also have a few rooms in their boutique hotel. I want to go back and stay for a few days in order to enjoy it for... More

There are, perhaps, two ways of looking at Rosas y Xocalate. You could view it as a lovely hotel that has a great restaurant, or as a lovely restaurant that is surrounded by a beautiful, friendly hotel. Either way, you will be we'll taken care of and have a great trip to Merida. My family and I spent three delightful... More

I highly recommend this hotel. It is an architecturally beautiful project, a true designer's hotel, where detail prevails. The owner and the staff are attentive to their guests and happy to accommodate requests. The cuisine is absolutely fantastic! Freshly-made bread, jams and delicious dishes make the restaurant a must in Merida.

I liked this boutique hotel a lot! It is a cosy place, with a wonderful design... You will be willing to take pictures at every corner. The room was very nice, spacious and clean. The outside bath was something fancy too, and also the chocolate soap ;) The staff is friendly and professional as you would expect in a place... More

My wife and I stayed here for 10 days in early February. The deluxe room (and the entire hotel) was gorgeous. The bed was very comfortable. There was plenty of closet and drawer space. Nice spacious bathroom with 2 sinks and a great shower in addition to the open-air bathtub. The fitness center was outstanding, with a good selection of... More

The über-cool Rosas y Xocolate Hotel is on the Paseo de Montejo, the city's answer to the Champs Elysées. It is a wide, green boulevard dotted with fine mansions built by wealthy families at the end of the 19th century, some chic shops, the city's anthropological museum and a smattering of banks. Two such mansions were purchased and renovated by... More
