This was my 2nd stay at Hacienda Mariposa ..the staff is awesome! Everyone of them made me and my friends feel special...like honored guests. The breakfast is still wonderful...many options and if you don't see something you like ask! It is served at Vagabunda’s restaurant a few steps. Great location just of 5th Av, and very handy for the very nice northern part of the Playa del Carmen beach. It's a place with lots of character. We had a wonderful holiday in Playa Del Carmen, helped greatly by our stay in this hotel, with some of the friendliest and most helpful reseption staff you'll find anywhere. Hacienda Mariposa is a great value for its location right on Playa del Carmen’s northern popular 5th Avenue and close to Playa’s best beach. We stayed a week in early January 2012. Loved the hotel and staff. Our room was overlooking 5th avenue which was very entertaining 24/7. The room was fairly small but had everything we needed including a small fridge. The water pressure was excellent and we never ran out of hot water. AC worked great. This hotel was perfect! We were there at the beginning of December and it was like we had the whole hotel to ourselves. It was quiet and clean, we had our own patio seating area, cable, A/C and daily room service! For $40 a night you cant always get all those amenities. The staff was not overly doting, but helpful...
