Stayed at Popul Vuh twice on our trip to Mexico...everyone that works there is very friendly and super helpful with local info. The resturant is very good with very afordable pricing. Breakfast is included in the price of the room (eggs, coffee, toast, cereal) a quiet oasis in the craziness that is Playa Del Carmen.

I hated Playa del Carmen: it looked like a shopping mall by the beach. But Popol Vuh was like a small oasis of peace, with direct beach access. I was a little skeptical after reading reviews, but after being there I knew this was the best location! If you are looking for luxury forget it, but a hammock in the shade a 100' from the beach this is for you!
