Stopped in for lunch last Saturday after a lovely walk in the Slieve Bloom hills, and we were served with one bowls of soup I've ever tasted. We also had an explore around the hotel, and thought it looked lovely. There is great attention to detail, and I'd like to go back and stay there. More

Hi there, had a great time in Kinnitty last weekend 27th - 29th January 2012. The atmosphere was wonderful, the staff were most kind and helpful, we even got a private tour of the empty bedrooms. The food was delicious and service was great. Loved the music in the Dungeon Bar. Enjoyed exploring all the grounds and the inside of... More

From the first moment I saw the castle from the driveway I was impressed. The stairway leading to reception was lit by candles and was very welcoming. The castle still retains its old world feel and hasn't been spoiled by mod cons. The bedrooms are located along corridors at different levels and my first impression was that I might need... More

Stayed here on Saturday night, had a great time. The castle is steeped in history and has a real charm to it. Set in lovely woodlands that we unfortunately never got to explore due to the brutal Irish weather. Our room was like something out of the medieval ages but in a good way. Very clean, comfortable and warm. Had a few... More

Reading other reviews, I don't understand why people would complain about the lack of TV in the rooms. Really?? You are in Ireland staying at a castle, why on earth would you want to stay in your room watching TV? My boyfriend and I were taking a castle tour of Ireland and stayed here for two nights. The only down... More

Had called in briefly to Kinnity while walking the year previously and couldnt wait to stay there! The place is so atmospheric ....in a stunning setting. From the moment you enter the sweeping heavily wooded drive to emerge at a magnificent old fortified mansion house. Into the entrance hall, all is olde worlde charm with a roaring fire ,furniture, suits of armour... More

Had the pleasure to attend a wedding there on the 30th Dec, I can only say that the staff are a credit to the hotel. the Hotel itself is dated, but only adds to the experience. The rooms, and bars are spotless, and always well staffed food was excellent, and reasonable. The attic rooms are beautiful as long as your... More

We recently had a two night stay in the castle. Overall, we enjoyed the stay. It had a great atmosphere and a lot of history. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was good, the only problem was that the bathroom needs maintenance eg the taps dripped all night. The meals were all good and there are a... More

I was a little wary after reading through some of the comments especially considering we booked this to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary. But I've always wanted to stay in a castle so we fired ahead anyway. The hotel was fantastic. We were based in the Owney Room which was on the ground floor beside the large courtyard. The... More

Spent a lovely 2 nights in this castle hotel. The setting is beautiful with the Slieve Bloom mountains nearby. Olde world charm throughout the castle from the bedrooms to the lounge/pub to the dining room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good value for money. Just to be aware that there was no television in the bedroom we stayed in -... More
