I have been staying at the Marinaterra for many years. Although it is an older property, it has been upgraded. The staff is wonderful and remembers me every time I come. Parking has become somewhat inconvenient, but the marina view is picturesque and soothing. It can be noisy when there are a lot of kids in the pool area. The... More

The timeshare is the same as staying at the hotel. The staff speaks good English, rooms are clean and the grounds are well maintained. Breakfast on sunday morning is very good at the hotel which is a buffett. The hotel is within walking distance of the marina, shopping, grocery stores, and places to eat. You can catch the bus which... More

Our checkin was speedy and the desk staff very helpful. The room (312) was spotless, quiet and wonderful! The beds were very comfortable (14" mattress on top of concrete base) with a fluffy white comforter and big fluffy pillows. There was AC but we were comfortable with the slider open and the ceiling fan on. there was a faint smell... More

This hotel is right at the marina at San Carlos, a small tourist community about a 10 minute drive outside of Guaymas, Sonora. The staff were extremely accomodating and helpful. We stayed there for 4 nights in late December. The room looked out over the marina, just steps away. The restauarant served wonderful food at a very reasonable price, with... More

i went with a dive group from flagstaff's summit dive shop...all things arranged for us and it was a GREAT dive location, with very nice accommodations at marinaterra. very good A/C to combat humidity, GREAT breakfast buffet down by the marina, excellent service from el mar diving center--when the ocean isn't "blooming" the water/fish/sea lions/every little thing that swims in... Hubby stayed here 3 nights for a scuba diving trip with a group. He said the room was clean, comfortable, and reservation was honored with no problem. The view of the harbor is fabulous, hotel is very close to restaurants too. More

This was our second trip to San Carlos, Mexico for scuba diving. For divers, the underwater scenery does not compare either to the Pacific or the Caribbean, but there are alot of octopus, which is a plus. Our bad experience at the Marinaterra began upon check-in. We arrived at the hotel at 5:30PM, waited on a long line, and upon... More

This is by far the best place to stay in San Carlos, however, you need to adjust your expectations before you arrive....this is not an internationally competitive hotel and spa, it is easy to be disappointed. So it is easier to lower your expectations somewhat. The hotel sits adjacent to the marina, so if you get a room facing the... More
