We stayed at the Palapas for 3 days in early January 2012 (the casa mango) as a family (2 adults, 2 adult-ish teens) and the format was perfect! The kids got the top floor (lots of room, choice of beds, TV&videos, own bathroom) and we had our own bed and bath downstairs. Lots of kitchen appliances and utensils (won't need... More

Palapas resort is in the quaint fishing village of La playa in Puerto Los Cabos. Named a Bohemian Resort by the owner , Palapas is just that: a perfect place to set free the Bohemian in all of us. Travelers , artists, sport fishing enthusiast, surfers , beach combers, families or those who just want to strip away the corset... More

If you're like our family and enjoy the beauty of resort towns but want something more... authentic then Palapas Resort is the way to go! You save the 40 minute drive to the resorts, have all the comforts of home (ok, my home doesn't have a rooftop deck or infinity pool but you get the point), are walking distance to... More

Our family of four stayed here in "Casa Mango" for a week. John (the owner) and Amanda (resident manager) were very helpful and accommodating. The resort is a compound in the residential neighborhood of Playita, on the far side of the marina from San Jose. That means that if the neighbors are playing mariachi music at night, you get to... Thank you so much for your review! Palapas Resort is a surfers dream and a fisherman’s delight, not to mention ideal for yoga retreats. Palapas is the perfect getaway for those looking for a Baja vacation the way it was 20 years ago. Welcome to La Playa, one of the last little fishing villages of its kind. Located in Puerto... More

Great place to stay.. Good location near the harbor. The kitchens were very useful for making margaritas! Would definitely stay again. Nice hidden gem. More

My husband and I stayed at Palapas Resort on Easter weekend--and I wish we had planned a longer stay there! The rooms are cute and affordable, and there is a great courtyard to hang out in. So great, in fact, that although we originally planned to go into town for dinner, we were enjoying the ambiance so much that we... More

My wife and I stayed at Palapas on our first trip to Baja and the San Jose del Cabo area. My favorite parts were strolling through and enjoying delicious food in the nearby fishing village of La Playita, as well as the proximity to both the beach. Both are just a few minutes walk from Palapas. We stayed in one... More

This is a nice relaxing retreat and great for a group of people. The house offers several private sleeping quarters, full kitchens/baths, and even a fish station and pool. We were able to live, cook and entertain ourselves in our own private compound. The place offered views of the beach which is within walking distance and close to the harbor.... More

Loved this place. Tropical Paradise...warm breezes. Quiet area...near quaint artistic town. So cute with authentic palapa roofs, mature tropical foilage and bright mexican colors. Has full kitchens! Went with my Mother and 2 year old daughter. We had so much fun. The hotel is perfect for families. Eat breakfast...Play in the pool and on the beach in the late morning.... More

This fun and unique retreat has much to offer to a group of family or friends. From the pool on the terrace, the exotic foliage in the gardens to the ping pong table; everything you need is in the compound or very nearby. The beautiful beach is a short walk and the La Playita village has great restaurants and fun... More
