The farmhouse is unassuming but immaculately renovated and the couple who run it are very attentive but not intruding. Simple wholesome meals and self-service bar, but a friendly family room and a fantastic bathroom with a view of piebald colts nursing in the fields in the morning.

Have you noticed that google maps aren't always accurate? Not the easiest place to find but once you arrive it's a warm welcome and a warm room complete with fire. Lovely rooms, lovely bathrooms. The company that booked me in asked that I rang 3 days ahead and order an evening meal, which I did. There was no evening meal.... More

We stopped here unexpectedly on our coast to coast walk. We were unaware it was there and it was very pleasent surprise. Great hospitality and lovely cup of coffee. Great place to base yourself for walking trips. A must stop on the coast to coast walking from Shap.

c2c stay. The welcome was brillant (carried our bags upstairs,) and we ate in. The room itself ok and the shared bathroom nice size. We were fortuante that friends of ours were staying their as well so a group of us had great food then collasped in residence loiunge with a decent TV and an honesty bar for drinks

Dave kindly offered to pick us up in Shap and return us there so we could stay with them for two nights.....which he probably later regretted.
