I have heard that this place used to be terrible and unsafe, but I stayed there in December 2012 and it was quite the opposite.
It's two stories high and they have plans to build a third floor. I stayed on the second floor and had a beautiful view of the beach and ocean.

The hotel is directly on the beach and strangers can move around unnoticed. There is no security or any kind of surveillance. I'm speaking by personal experience as a relative of mine got murdered in that hotel last January. I would recommend staying in a safer place...
