While many people stay as a group, my Husband and I enjoyed this place as a couple. We loved it so much we tried to extend our 4 night stay to 6 ,but only was able to extend by one night. We stayed in the one bedroom condo. This had an open (real) fireplace, lounge and full kitchen. For some odd reason... More

Go every winter for a winter retreat as a family. Although some sections are dated we stay in a loft and cook. It is very cozy and nice. Having a great view of the mountains and a wood burning fireplace is really nice. Close to banff but a little too far to walk which is a turn off. Trails around... More

We recently stayed for several nights, in a pet friendly unit. I am always slightly horrified by the pet money grab, I can see a onetime fee, but really $25 a night? How is the number of nights one stays going to effect how the unit is cleaned? I will admit, I was less concerned about our golden retriever shedding... More

We recently stayed 3 nights at the Douglas Fir with our 3 teenagers. We booked a one-bedroom with loft. The suite was absolutely perfect. The 3 kids had the loft and turned it into their "apartment" for the weekend - it had 2 queen beds, a large dresser, flat screen tv, and a bathroom. My husband and I had the... More

What can I say this place is great. Wood burning fire place. Water slides .Loft suites. Unbelievable views. If I had to recommend one place in Alberta to someone who had never visited this would be it. Yes it is older but has been thoughtfully maintained and cleaned. As close as you get to camping in the mountains . They dont... More

I took my 2 in a half daughter, 11 month old son and wife out to Banff for Mother's day and stayed at the Douglas Fir loft room in the main lodge. A little out dated but the grounds are kept up and they have done reno's so the place is still great. The kitchen was very handy for our... More

I don't think there is much doubt that this place is, in theory the best family accommodation in Banff. With the kids playzone, water slides, pool, sauna and whirlpool, you have a number of recreational activities, and with full kitchen facilities and utensils, you can cook as you please. The laundry and grocery facilities on site provide a further bonus,... More

Thank you for your comments on your recent stay with us. It is unfortunate that you encountered so many static shocks during what otherwise would seem to have been a very enjoyable visit to Banff. To address your concern, static shocks are very common at high altitudes, in cold temperatures and in dry weather conditions; all prominent conditions throughout all... More

Overall our stay was good. A couple things to note: the kitchen has cheaper quality appliances. Couldnt even use the bottle opener because it was too cheap it would bend backwards. There was only one smaller fry pan that was usable. The other one would instantly burn our food. The fridge was so cold (even turned down past the "normal"... More
