Next door to the flasher Ptarmigan Inn. Managed by the Ptarmigan Inn. That is where you will check in and be offered the use of their facilities, pools ect. But Driftwood really is the same establishment but of a much lower standard. Bathroom fine. Bed........ a THICK feather cover on mattress making all far far to soft and on occassions... More

Drunk college kids screaming in the hall all night. Repeated calls to the front desk got them to quiet down each time but it kept restarting until 5 AM. Otherwise, nice rooms and good location, but I didn't sleep much at all. More

We booked the Driftwood on the advice of a friend. It turned out to be an excellent place to stay, more so because of the low cost combined with the location. We stayed for a week and were literally 2 minutes from the local supermarket (Safeway). We were only minutes (5-10) from the main drag where we found the shopping... More

We stayed in a double room upstairs. The first couple of nights were fine as the hotel was quite quiet, but we did notice a change in noise levels for our final night and so if you're travelling here during peak season it's probably wise to pack ear plugs just in case. The room was spacious and clean, and had... More

Welcome home and thank you for taking the time to write your review. Our convenient location is very popular with travelers, however s you mentioned it can also cause some noise issues on the streets during the peak season,. However if you wish to try some ear plugs or have forgotten your please call the front desk and we will... More

We stayed at the Driftwood for two nights with our dog just at the end of the shoulder season. We got a rate of around $80 per night. This seemed pretty reasonable considering the going rate for other hotels in town which were in the $125+ range. We noticed that that Best Western's Sliding 29 had raised its rate considerably... Having booked in at Ptarmagan we found our room to be adequate in the Driftwood which is in effect an annexe across the car park. Pretty good value. Centrally located so easy enough to find plenty of places to eat. The rear entrance takes you in to the back street and is very convenient for local supermarket and liquor store. More

Due to the excessive lodging costs in Banff, I chose the Driftwood Inn over its more expensive counterparts. I experienced no major issues, and I would definitely return if I came back to Banff. Rooms are fairly basic (no comfortable chairs) but the bed was fine. No bugs or dirt. There are some annoyances, such as a non-functional thermostat, a... More

I rated this only average because "Very Good" seemed a little excessive, and there was no "Good" category. I WOULD stay here again, in spite of the lumpy mattress. The value was excellent, location very good. Towels and TP were pretty decent and room was spacious. No micro-fridge was a downer, and thermostat seemed centrally controlled (is there AC?) --... We have travelled quite a bid around the world and have always tried to keep our traveling expenses down so we had our concerns when we made the booking at The Driftwood Inn as some of the reviews were quite harsh but we have learnt to take a grain of salt when reading hotel reviews. The Driftwood Inn is part... More
