We looked around downtown Banff for accomodations since we hadn't made room reservations ahead of time. Besides being expensive, downtown also seemed a little too trafficy with both vehicles and tourists, so decided to head south on Banff Avenue. We went over a bridge onto Spray Ave and came across the Elkhorn Lodge. It looked like a relatively quiet location... More

We spent two nights in this hotel which we had booked online. It wasn't quite what we expected. Calling it rustic is stretching it a little. True the original lodge is old but the updates are only outdated. Our whole room needed to be brought into this century, pretty well new everything is needed from carpet to bathroom it even... More

We stayed there for a few nights in winter 2012. The good Great location - away from the busy main street; still close enough to shops and attractions. Reasonable price Clean and comfortable room Good service Free parking Free Wi Fi The Bad Basic accomodation - no laundry, no breakfast.

We booked here for one night in one of the basic rooms #9. Disappointed considering it cost us $167 (incl. taxes) for something so basic. It was old and the decor was out dated, and had a musty old smell to it. The positive is that it was clean. So clean that the towels smells like bleach. There's no common... More

We stayed in Banff for 3 nights. Elkhorn lodge is ideally located just over the bridge from the main Banff street. This means a short stroll (10 minutes) in to town and no noise at night. The owner was really helpful. We stayed in room #9 which was one of the basic ones. It was really comfortable with good bed... More

Very quiet and nice Lodge... They serve no breakfast, though... And it's also a bit pricey (We paid $116.60 CDN in early June, 2007). But the place in itself is a charm. No noise at all, even though we had our room right next to the stairs. We had the TV and Coffee Maker included in the room, and there... More

This is a nice little place within walking distance of downtown. The beds are comfortable and the service is friendly. The room was quite resaonably priced and came with coffee, the usual shampoo/conditioner, and cable TV. My only complaint is that the rooms don't have telephones. There is a pay-phone in the upstairs common area, but it mostly ate my... More
