Older Motor Inn, two story just off of Stoney Plain Road. Typical 70's style Motor Inn with older décor. Room was clean, bed was good, bedding was good, hot water was good, bathroom clean. Asked for and was given a ground floor walk in. Parking was ample and the noise level was minimal. For someone traveling for business or a crew working, this is a good motel. Considering how close to the West Edmonton Mall it was, I expected to pay a lot more for the room than I did. Really good deal and I had never seen it before I stopped. If you're looking for the usual IHG or chain hotel amenities and quality, this one isn't for you. If you're someone on a budget and just need a place to sleep and shower, grab this one.

Called ahead to ensure that a pet-friendly room was available for the night, and informed the receptionist that we had two dogs. He said it would be $120 + $15 for each dog. Sounded a bit pricey, but we were coming into Edmonton late and unfortunately all the decent hotels were booked up due to the bike race, so it was our last option. We showed up at around midnight and checked in, informing the receptionist again that we had dogs since there was a "ALL PETS MUST BE REGISTERED" sign on the counter. He seemed distracted by his buddy who had just walked in and just handed my boyfriend the key (to a room on the upper floor) and a TV remote (never a good sign) after taking a $100 deposit. The reason that the place got two stars from me is that the room itself was spacious, and the bed was comfortable. It looked like it had been recently updated, however already looking run-down -- fan ripped out of the bathroom ceiling, questionably-stained carpet & bedspread, and baseboard heaters not wired properly. However, those things in and of themselves are somewhat expected and I wouldn't have written a negative review if that was all. The real problem was with the service. I took my dogs out for a pee in the grassy area in the centre of the parking lot in the morning (~9am), and felt eyes watching me. A couple sat in their car staring at me as I walked back with the dogs to our room. An hour later as we were packing up, we received a knock at the door from one of the front desk employees who said they'd seen our dogs "on the security cameras" and that we were going to be charged a $200 fee for "unregistered pets" since the room we were given was not a designated pet-friendly room. It immediately felt like a scam as we had definitely informed the receptionist, and were SUPPOSED to have gotten a designated pet-friendly room in the first place. Went down to the office to check out and plead our case, and the manager tried to argue with us that we had not informed last night's receptionist and kept changing the price that she was going to charge us, at one point saying that the $15 fee was only for small dogs and that our over 20lb dog should have been a $30 fee... at another point saying we would be charged an additional $60 fee to clean the room (when my dogs didn't leave a single trace of their presence). Needless to say, it was absolutely ridiculous and we refused to pay anything more than we were initially quoted. She called last night's receptionist back in front of us and he changed his story and admitted that we had told him about the dogs the night before, and we were finally free to go. tl;dr: They try to scam you out of extra money. Costs way too much in the first place for a dive motel. Don't go here.

Where to start? I drove in and was immediately wondering when i saw a variety of motor vehicle parts scatteted throughout the parking lot. I asked to see room...i opened the door amd my nostrils stung from the strong odour of urine. The carpet stained. I wemt back to front desk...he was very rude but finally offered another room. Same awful experience. I explained that rooms were not to standard...the front clerk became so belligerent i had to threaten to call the police to solve the problem ...he had credit card. Booking.com helped to solve issue but take my word skip the hassle go somewhere else

Oh dear where do I start? Well how about the fact that they gave me a horrible room, disgusting dirty rug, tv didn't work, phone didn't work, all surfaces were dirty, smoke detector didn't have batteries in it, A/C and plugs didn't work. I had my small dog with me and of course they charged me $20 for her plus $100 damage deposit. Are u kidding me?? This is the worst place I have ever stayed at and definately not the cheapest. $100 for one person and $20 for my dog. Pets are allowed but no cats.....huh? The grassy area in the middle of the parking lot has vomit and garbage in it. Also vomit on the pavement by the office door. When I checked out I gave the desk clerk my list of concerns and he said he would have the maid look into this. Scary place.

This a decent place to stay, check in and check out was incredibly easy (which was a good thing since that was the first place I ever checked in on my own) and they explained everything pretty well to me. and they were also okay with my three hour early check in (oops! supposed to be there at 6 and showed up at 3) at first glance it looks sort of sketchy, the type of place where you'd think there would be dingy dirty rooms. I'll admit the rooms look a little dated but they are fairly clean. but they need to get rid of any cloth couches those were the only real problem. housekeeping was exceptional, we came back from our outing and the room almost looked as it did when we first arrived, (neat and tidy, we left it messy oops!) which is always nice and greatly appreciated to come back to. it has a restaurant close by, I didn't have the pleasure of checking that out because we went to the Walmart which was just down the road for groceries to save on cash to spend at the mall which was close by and easy to find. So in that regard, the location was perfect! on the other hand, you have to realize that this is a motor inn and there were some night owls milling about. Thankfully we were close to the office in a "quiet room" and didn't have to deal with any noise during our stay. the joining balconies were kind of unsettling, it would definitely be better if you booked the floor with friends though! free wifi! fair price however we will probably find a different location to stay next time.

I stayed here with my husband a couple of times after travelling down from Fort McMurray. We were after a cheap but decent hotel that was close to West Ed Mall-after all we wanted to save our spending money for shopping/eating/drinking...and West Ed Mall is the main attraction of Edmonton - so if you missed that then you have really MISSED out!! The hotel is not perfect but both times we have found everything to be clean and the staff to be friendly. The basic free breakfast is a bonus start to the day. It's not the Taj Mahal but when you're shopping all night and eating and drinking in Bouban St (@ the mall), then you only need a place to sleep.

The people at the front desk were nice during our stay. They gave us a new room and recommended an excellent restaurant for dinner and upon first entering the room seemed fine although vents were dusty. Woke up several times during the night unable to breath due to my allergy to dust so it was more dusty than it looked. Upon our return home we both were covered in itchy red bumps! Turns out they're bed bug bites! They bite the fleshy parts and will bite in rows so there is no doubt. Now we only drove to Edmonton, stayed over night, and drove back the next morning and they were definitely not from our car. I do hope this was just an unfortunate isolated incident at this motel but as of the other day they were refusing to take responsibility or to reimburse us for our one night stay which is really the least one would expect.

I called these guys after arriving in town to confirm that they had rooms and were in fact pet friendly- the man on the phone assured me they had plenty of vacancy and told me to come on over. After driving across town (not the easiest feat with a trailer and two grumpy cats ) we parked and I got out to check in. The first thing I noticed was two huge signs saying "NO CATS" in block letters. I told the man at the desk I had cats but had already called to confirm to which he replied "you said pet! Cats are not pet! Dog is pet!" In broken English. When I told him I had I just driven across town he started to laugh. Very nice customer service; very professional. I walked out and went right next door where they rented us a nice clean room no problem.

Nothing about this place is good. The service was terrible, the rooms were dirty and not made up until 6 pm on 2 days out the 3 days I stayed. The complimentary "breakfast" is a joke - stale bread, weak coffee and day-old mini-muffins. When I complained about the room and service, they refused to refund my 2 remaining pre-paid days. They also charge extra ($10-$30 per night) if you don't like the room they assign and try to change it. There are many other motels within 1/2 km at comparable prices. Go anywhere else !!!
