Our stay at Wisteria Guest House was one of the highlights of our visit to Salt Spring Island. We had reserved Room 5, which was comfortable, with a delightful view of the garden. It was a little late in the year for sitting outside, and we were relieved to find the room had its own heating controls, very important for... More

Two long time couples enjoyed a wonderful two night stay. The B &B was clean and very nice . I have stayed in fancier places but none were more comfortable. Lovely gardens, superior service, truly exceptional breakfasts. We were there in prime Summer season and the place was full but you wouldn't know it. the hosts were smooth and obviously... More

This was our second stay within a few months of each other, for a milestone birthday and anniversary. We initially chose Wisteria with several important factors in mind: pet friendly, location, price and having a king bed option. The added features became evident through our experiences. Breakfasts are divine and lovingly prepared with the freshest, in-season ingredients. The hosts, Len... More

We have returned to stay at Wisteria Guest House many times. The location is excellent as it is just a short walk to Ganges, the hub of the island with the Saturday market and beautiful waterfront. The rooms are nicely decorated, very clean with comfortable beds. The common area is a great place to meet other guests or just sit... More

My husband and I stayed here 2 nights. We found this accommodation "starred" in a guidebook and labeled a "find". We were suprised that the rate was about 30% higher than the rate stated in the guidebook. If the rate were only slightly higher than the rate in the guidebook I would be giving this a higher rating, but at... More

This B&B served one of the best breakfasts I have ever had-- delicious and beautifully presented. The inn is very quiet, the yard is lovely and is convenient to to the stores and restaurants in Ganges- only about a 10 minute walk. The rooms are nicely decorated and the beds are comfortable. We stayed here near the end of a... More

We agree with the former review -- the owners are very nice and the breakfasts are delicious but the accommodation itself (we stayed in the cottage) needs extensive renovation to equate to the price that is charged. Example, in the bathroom the wall paint is peeling, the bathtub is stained and chipped, the linoleum and arborite are circa 1950 and... More

I was looking at the reviews of other properties at this time of year and one word keeps coming up - overpriced. Unfortunately, it's expensive to operate a hotel on Salt Spring and all our rates reflect this. Most people forget, however, that the Wisteria includes breakfast in its rates. Breakfast alone sells for $20 per person and is probably... More

If you're into a casual country-style guest house in keeping with the natural environment of a Southern Gulf Island with a wild styled garden of lavendar and Wisteria when in bloom, adirondack chairs on the deck and the feeling that you're returning to visit a lifelong friend, you're probably a good fit for this casual but professionally-run guest home. My... More

We were stunned when we drove up to the guest house, our hearts just dropped. It was a somewhat dumpy ranch looking house (it used to be a "rest home") in a neighborhood. What a disappointment. Really, does a can of paint cost that much! I do not understand how this place could be rated so highly. The breakfast was... More

I agree about the paint. It was supposed to be done last year but we decided to build a deck around the guesthouse which needed to be done first. This spring we obtained the quotes of the paint job (incidentally, a 'can of paint' in our case costs close to $20,000) and then discovered that the roof leaks. We reshingled... More

I have long been a B&B hater, but I absolutely adored our stay at the Wisteria Guest House. We stayed here with our extended family as part of a wedding weekend on the island and the Wisteria was an oasis of calm in an otherwise hectic weekend. The breakfasts were out of this world - the fresh herbs and fruit... More
