Janine and Ken were great hosts, beautiful rooms, easy access to everything in Vancouver, we stayed in the suite on the top floor of the guesthouse. It had a very nice bed quite comfortable cutely decorated. Located just a few blocks from the Gaslight district. we walked to a couple of restaurants on water street not to far away. Diffidently... we stayed in a twin room for 3 nights in october, it was a wonderful place to stay. great location, great house with everything you could want. would definitely stay there again and recommend it. it is not for people wanting to party, but a quiet home away from home. breakfast was all supplied you just had to cook it... I would not stay here again. Both the owners were very kind and hospitable, but the accommodations were very lacking. The front door was VERY hard to find, steep stairs lead to actual 'house', unusable front 'porch', tiny kitchen that guests have to use simultaneously (ie make your own meals) - decided to go out and eat most mornings. Slept... More

We stayed five nights at the Urban Hideaway, in the Loft room, which was very comfortable, with lots of space. Janine was very friendly and helpful. There was home made yoghurt, muesli and fruit for breakfast with juice and good coffee - or you could cook eggs if you wanted - and we met interesting people with whom we exchanged... More

We stayed on our last night before heading home to Australia. I chose it for the location and that was spot on. You can't go wrong for access to transport and downtown amenities. We had a second floor room at the back, comfortable and quiet. Sharing the bathrooms wasn't an issue. The kitchen is big but not set up for... More

I chose Urban Hideaway as the place to stay when my mum came to visit me in Vancouver - i wanted somewhere for her to be able to hang out and relax, but that wasn't too pricey and still in the heart of downtown and close to everything....check, check and check. The historic house is a rare find, virtually hidden... More

We stayed at the Urban Hideaway Guesthouse for 2 separate nights in April. The first night we stayed there was just before we left the city to tour around BC. The second was when we arrived back from our tour and just before we flew back to the UK. The Guesthouse is run by the owners, Ken and Janine, who... More

Friendliest Proprietor. Warmly Snuggled in our Queen sized bed with the view window watching the snow fall. Quiet and just short walk to skytrain, theatres and shopping. Impeccably clean. Small kitchen was perfect for preparing our meals. Lovely outdoor patio. Charming older building with unique stairs and decor.

I was here for only one night, but will definitely be back! It was like a warm fuzzy sweater on a cold winter's night. Very clean old house with lots of charm. Creaky floors, which made for some late night noise that could wake up the lighter sleepers (like me). I stayed on the second floor, in the front room... More

This is the second time we have stayed at here and we will next time we are in Vancouver too! It's an older building but everything is clean and functional. We have stayed in both the Loft and the View Room and if you can afford it/have the numbers the loft is great. The owners Ken and Janine and very... More
