Pros: 1. Facilities are new and in a good shape. 2. Breakfast, considering the room price, is actually not bad. Unlimited muffins and juice in addition to cereal and bread. 3. Cleanness: Shared bathroom were neat and tidy during my stay. Cons: 1. The kitchen has no stove. You can't really 'cook' apart from using the microwave. 2. The location... More

We stayed in a private room private bath room. We walked over from the train/bus station, not super close but not impossible either! It took about 40 minutes, considering we were dragging all our bags. Location was good for walking to many areas. Some shady characters riding the elevators up and down and hanging out in the lobby and the... More

Located on the busiest street in Vancouver. Their security protocols leave much to be desired. Next time I'll stay at the Downtown hostel which is in a residential area. More

Not to the same standard as YHA hostels in other countries but the dorms and shared bathrooms are satisfactory despite looking like they need renovating. The communal facilities are poor with no kitchen utilities beyond a microwave and kettle. Only options are to eat out, not ideal for budget travellers. More

Stayed here countless times and this must be the best hostel in Vancouver single bathrooms, comfy beds and awesome duvets. Staff are extremely friendly, free breakfast. However some pillows are very lumpy. More

Stayed here for 4 nights in a private room with ensuite in Mar 2012. Pros: 1) Our longhaul flight landed early moring and even though check-in wasn't until afternoon they let us check-in early which was a major bonus. 2) The room was generously sized for a hostel - we were surprised. The room and common areas were very clean and... The location of the hostel is convenient for first time visitors to Vancouver as it's convenient to main attractions, shops, nightlife, and eateries. The rooms are sufficient, bathrooms are a good size and clean, and there is a good variation for breakfast. Unfortunately the front desk staff need more customer service training, they are aloof and more interested on whatever... More

The Best Hostel in B.C. Great location; only a few minutes walk from the Granville SkyTrain station. Extremely helpful staff. Great facilities; free WiFi, well equipped kitchen, TV room, common room, inexpensive laundry room, ultra clean and modern bathrooms and spacious bedrooms and cosy bunks with individual backpack sized lockers in the room. The all you can eat breakfast is... More

Overall good experience! The location of HI-Vancouver Central is exactly that, CENTRAL! It was right in the middle of downtown and within walking distance of just about everything! They offer a great selection for the free morning breakfast (bagels, cereal, coffee, preserves, and other assorted pastries). They have private bathrooms and plenty of them. I never had to wait for... More

I liked the hostel, although it was very old, it was clean and good. At the reception desk there are daily activities you can participate. This is really nice and with the "Eriks Tour" you see a lot for less money. Sometimes the breakfast room was overcrowded, because there arent so many tables and seats. Breakfast is included and you... More
