I stayed here because of the price. The hotel is older and shows it's 80's heritage. The room was fairly clean but had the odor of old carpet, mildew in the bathroom etc. The big old 90's tv worked just fine. Beds were comfortable and not worn. Staying at this hotel made our visit to Winnipeg really nice, the rooms were clean, although it is on the main road the rooms were quiet, as senior citizens we were given a choice of staying in the hotel or in the motel site attached to the main area. Ever since the neighboring property went downhill (almost off the face of the planet), this Howard Johnson's became my go-to hotel in Winnipeg. Thank you for your recent comments about our hotel. We have recently changed our policies with cash payments because in the past we have been left to pay for extensive damages to our rooms.
