I recently stayed at the Bread & Roses Inn. I was in a double room on the second floor, and my parents were in a Queen room next door. The house and property are beautiful. Each room is unique and comfortable, and the common areas (livingroom and diningroom) are equally stunning. Gaya, the owner, is extremely friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable.... More

We, my husband and I, spent just one night at this beautiful B&B and walked away feeling like we had known Gaya, the owner, forever. The house is amazing, absolutely spotless, quiet and feels like a family home. We had a room on the first floor at the front with the biggest 4 poster bed and windows all around, it... More

We have stayed several times at the Bread and Roses Inn, most recently in July 2011. The reasons we keep returning: • clean, spacious, quiet rooms with comfortable beds • the breakfasts are delicious and plentiful. • We enjoy chatting with fellow guests and the hosts, Jim & Gaya, but they also offer smaller tables in the dining room if... Room good but not very welcoming. Very nice town, all within walking distance. Limited choices for Dinner in the town. Breakfast acceptable no offer of more coffee or tea or toast. More

We stayed in room#6 for 1 night. Our room was clean and comfortable. The inn is elegantly decorated and has lots of architectural details. The breakfast was plenty and scrumptious. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We also found the location very quiet and convenient for our trip. We highly recommend it! More

We saved the best for our last three days in Nova Scotia. This is one of the best B&Bs we've stayed in whether in Canada, the US, or Europe. Our hosts, Jim and Gaya (and Bella the cheerful labradoodle) were friendly, knowledgeable, and always helpful. Our comfortable room on the main floor was fresh and bright. The wonderful breakfasts gave... More

This was by far the best b&b stop of our 21 day trip to Nova Scotia, PEI and New Brunswick. Our room was beautiful and Jim and Gaya were charming and helpful hosts. Jim talked us into going on the night time graveyard tour and we were glad we did as it was excellent! The breakfast was great and all... More

The Victorian flavor of this b&b feels much more authentic than some -- cabbage roses on the wallpaper and lace curtains, yes, but no "cute" additions. The host and hostess are unfailingly helpful, the breakfast is sumptuous and the beds are comfortable indeed. Linens are crisp, but soft -- not always true in B&Bs. The only downside that we found...
