We (like others) had read about the oysters and just had to go try some. We add our vote to those before us...they oysters were awesome. However, what was really memorable for us was the chance to chat with the owners. Fortunately for us, we had arrived right at lunch time--so the owner and his wife (and their visiting grandson)... We had an awesome time at this campground. In fact I've gone twice with different people. The fresh oysters were amazing and enjoying them at your campsite is a unique experience. The beach is a little walk away but it's beautiful and very private. The camp sites aren't as private as we like but the view from the field is... More

We stayed here for two nights. It is a beautiful place with a fantastic view of the mountains and ocean. It is a small campground, quiet and clean. There are plenty of washrooms and showers. There is also a cooking shelter, play ground and a rec hall. The owners were very friendly and although this was my first stay, remembered... More

We stayed at the Hideaway Campground based on the recommendation of a friend and were largely pleased with the experience. There are both waterfront and wooded tent sites to choose from, as well as cabins scattered around the grounds. The sites are relatively close together and we were initially concerned about noise from the cabins, but everything quieted down after... More

We didn't stay here so can't comment on the campground. We were told by locals to get their oysters, which did not disappoint. They were freshly harvested that morning, and shucked right in front of us, with all the fixings.

We did not actually camp at the campground, we simply stopped in for some crab legs and oysters. When we first walked in we felt we were in the wrong place. We had read a review online and decided to try it out. We then ordered the oysters and crab legs. The woman behind the counter shucked them right away... More

When I first saw this campsite, it brought me memories of desolation without being desolate. The setting on top of a hill provides sweeping views of Aspy Bay and the Atlantic Ocean beyond. The owners left an open space towards the back to create a meadow thereby allowing the campers to observe the unique geologic features formed millions of years... More

The campground location is beautiful and convenient and also has hospitality owners. We were putting to the place near the office and the common room which has electricity but was a little bit noisy! There were teens playing and singing next to our tent until almost midnight! And the ground for our tentsite has rare grass, so we slept on... More
