Stan and Carol have a gem here - a beautifully restored and maintained house on the quiet east coast "road less travelled". We had Jonathan's Room, the upstairs room at the back, with lovely furnishings, very comfortable bed and a modern-fitted private bathroom. Despite being at the back, a side windows does let you see the ocean. We were welcomed... More

We stumbled on this B&B, mainly because D knew Stan & Carol about 20 years ago in Ontario. Fortunate timing to catch them at the end of season (end of October), when many places are closed. We had "Sarah's Room" with 4 pc ensuite, and were very comfortable there. Storm "Sandy" was blowing outside but no problem for us. Breakfasts... More

We can't say enough good things about our stay with Carol & Stan. We stayed for 3 nights on our way to Nfld. and 2 nights on our return. The century home is nicely decorated and very clean. Carol & Stan make you feel so welcome and part of their family. It truly felt like home. The delicious multi-course breakfasts... More

Carol and Stan are ideally suited for hosting a bed and breakfast. From their warm and welcoming personalities to the home decor, to the absolutely fabulous breakfasts, they were unsurpassed by any other B&B we stayed at. Our conversations were jovial, we slept well on their comfortable bed and enjoyed well priced and tasty suppers at a nearby restaurant. During... More

We stopped by this restaurant randomly while we were passing by on the road. It was a nice surprise. Good sea food, home cooked. Price are very OK, and personnel friendly. Nice view on the see, and original design for the tables :) I recommend it.

Just like home - if you happen to live in a gorgeous, restored, heritage home minutes away from the beach. Stan and Carol were absolutely the most warm and welcoming hosts we encountered on this vacation. During our stay from August 24 to 26, we felt completely comfortable and relaxed. Our rooms were beautiful and clean, with bottled water provided.... More

I was in Port Morien to visit relatives in August 2012. My husband & I chose the Rectory B&B and it is a delightful place to stay. Sarah's Room is charming and the ensuite is an added bonus. Stan and Carol are gracious hosts. Stan even guided me to a relative's house. We were welcomed from the moment we arrived.... More

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Rectory and especially appreciated the hospitality of the hosts, Stan and Carol. The breakfast was wonderful and we enjoyed the conversation and company of the hosts very much. The location is central and convenient to several of the local attractions, including the Marconi Museum and Louisbourg. We highly recommend it... More

Our family of 4 (2 small children) plus my parents (seniors) stayed for 2 nights at Port Morien Rectory B&B in July 2012. We have stayed at a lot of great B&B's, but Stan & Carol are by far the friendliest and most accommodating hosts we have ever encountered! They went out of their way to make room for our... More
