We made a relatively late reservation for a one night stay. The home is lovely. Every room has a private ensuite bath. The rooms are not large but certainly more than adequate for most travelers. The host, Janet, is very welcoming and has a great sense of sarcastic humor. We would strongly recommend this B&B, especially for travelers who don't intend to spend much time in their room.

Matisse B&B was great. Janet was welcoming and very helpful. The room was super clean and cozy and well.appointed. Breakfast was substantial and delicious and kept us going until mid afternoon. A 10-15 minute walk to the main street of NOTL was a bonus too. Highly recommend Matisse and Janet!

Loved our two-night stay at Matisse with Janet and Guy! The Collioure room was clean and cozy, and the breakfasts were top-notch - fresh and homemade. Janet and Guy were both super friendly, giving us some helpful tips for sightseeing and winetasting in the area. Will absolutely be back!

A lovely cosy B&B. Room was small but had everything you needed. Little area across the landing where you could prepare drinks etc. Nice location a 10 minute walk to the centre. Delicious breakfast. Janet was very welcoming.

We had a very comfortable room, well appointed. Although our private bath was across the hall it was no inconvenience. We were provided with warm bath robes to wear back and forth. Janet's breakfast was great! There were 3 couples at breakfast and Janet joined in the discussion and we had a nice start to the day. The back yard has a nice quiet sitting area to enjoy a "refreshing beverage". The B & B is located within a 5 minute drive of the main street of Niagara-on-the-Lake.

We had a wonderful stay with Janet and Guy. They were great hosts and so informative about the area and all the local attractions. Our room was cozy and welcoming with all the amenities and then some! Our breakfasts were so YUMMY! Thank you Janet for being so considerate of our dietary concerns too. As the writing on the wall states "Arrive as guests, Leave as friends" we are already thinking about booking again in the fall! Highly recommend Matisse.

Janet and Guy were absolutely amazing hosts; Janet was very informative and knowledgeable with regards to winery tours in the area, and provided us with tons of coupons for complimentary wine tastings in the area, as well as very good recommendations for touristic attractions within the NOTL town itself. Delicious breakfast in the morning and great conversation with the hosts as well as other guests. 10/10 would recommend; we will definitely be back.

Response from jkj1783, Owner at Matisse Bed & Breakfast

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback about your stay. I wonder about your term 'shared bathroom' as, although we have a king room with a bathroom across the hall, it is for the exclusive use of guests booked in that room since our other two rooms have their own ensuite bathrooms. We hope we will be able to host you in the future should you revisit Niagara on the Lake.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent 3 night stay at Ashgrove B&B. Janet and Guy are wonderful hosts providing a very clean, comfortable and relaxing place to stay. We would start our mornings with coffee/tea on the nicely furnished front veranda followed then by Janet's excellent and hearty breakfasts in the dining room. Janet is easy and fun to converse with and provided us with many tips for restaurants, sights, wineries, directions, etc. all of which were spot on. After busy days of sightseeing we would come back and enjoy a glass of wine on the veranda or in the large, and beautifully landscaped, back yard. Finally, we would retire to our room which, along with the bathroom, was nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable and allowed us a very sound sleep. The location is great, as it is a comfortable 10 minute walk to the main street in Niagara-on-the-Lake. As well, we had our bicycles with us and spent one of our days riding to Niagara Falls and back. There is a dedicated cycling path the entire way and access to the path is only one block from the B&B. We look forward to returning to Niagara-on-the-Lake in the future and will definitely stay at this B&B.
