Our choice of accommodation in Sault Ste Marie, and therefore, this facility, was determined through our participation in the Theatre Ontario Festival. Given the rather lacklustre exterior of this hotel, my hopes weren't high upon arrival. Soon, however, we were delighted to find ourselves in a very spacious room, complete with kitchenette. Because of its size, the other members of our... More

We recently had the opportunity to stay at this hotel for two nights. First night OK second night pure hell. 60 of the Hotels rooms were booked to Hockey Teams varying in ages from Preteens to Teens. The Teens were the issue. Both nights kids were found to be playing Hockey in the hall way. NO big deal for most... More

Good day and thank you for your review. I am sorry that your stay was noisier than normal as there was a City wide Hockey and Basketball tournament in town. Most Hotels in the city were sold out and full sporting teams, thus the noise factor at EVERY Hotel in town during that weekend would be higher than normal. Other... More

After a dreadful experience at the Commando Motel in Cochrane, I decided to take a different route home from Toronto which meant I would be staying in Sault Ste. Marie. I have stayed at three different hotels in SSM and this finishes 3rd, but it was worth the money just the same ($79 dbl occ plus taxes). Our room was... More

There was a lot to like about this place: 1) An excellent central location, almost directly across the street from where you catch the tour train into the Algoma Woods; 2) Spacious, clean rooms; 3) An adjoining cafeteria that serves great breakfast omelets; 4) A spacious covered parking garage back of the motel - free to patrons However, I did... My boyfriend and I stayed at the Travelodge the long weekend in September and found the property to be very nice! The rooms were very clean and nicely updated. The Front Desk staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The rates are very reasonable as well. I loved the little cafe just outside the lobby..."Absolutely Delicious" as well...very cozy. I would... More

There were hardly any rooms left in the whole city when booked, so reluctantly booked smoking rooms, hoping that someone would cancel or swap, or at least that the rooms would be OK after a good airing. No such luck. Several other people checking in before me were also looking for non-smoking. When I asked why they had so many... More

Good day Roz 57, Thank you for your comments. I would like to clarify a few items in regards to your review. Firstly, yes any smoking room will have a residual smoke odor inside and just outside that room no matter how much we air out or spray the room, that is the nature of a smoking room. I realize... Hotel wasgreat. Rooms were clean, bed comfortable , and the hotel was in central location by the river. The staff were always friendly and accomodating. Air conditioing in room was fantastic, but the hallways and excercise room were warm. Indoor parking in winter would be a be a big plus. Staff in small restaurant on site were friendly and the... Pros: Friendly staff, decent location by the water, strong internet connection and modern up to date rooms that were clean and of decent quality. The price was moderate. A little high but it was an overall good experience. The Con: If your staying with pets you have to stay in a smoking room (a policy not mentioned on expedia when... More

Thank you for your recent review of our property. I would like to clarify an ongoing issue we have with Expedia in regards to our pet policy.
