We are travelling with our dog and even she shouldn't have to stay here. The beds were comfortable enough but I did wonder why the entrance way to our room was wet. The breakfast was adequate. We walked to Boston Pizza for supper. We wouldn't have stayed here except for the fact we needed a dog friendly hotel. She's stayed... More

Stayed here in February on my way to southern Ontario. The staff were friendly but the hotel is very old and needs major work or demolition. The room i got was very old the bed was a joke. I have stayed in lots of super 8's before and this is the first time i have felt i needed to jam... More

In Thunder Bay for business. Only in the room for about ten hours so did not require anything fancy. Definitely not the Ritz but one of the most economical hotels in Thunder Bay and I would recommend if just looking for a bed. More

This is an older motel and shows by its non-disabled friendly entry. Once inside the lobby is off to the right amongst the breakfast area. If one the first level, you can enter directly into your room from the back parking lot, Again the door way is raised, but anyone in a wheel chair with a little strength could get... More

We were just passing through Thunder Bay looking for a place to stay for the night. The Super 8 worked well for us. The rooms are average, but the hotel was clean. The continental breakfast was appreciated but it was also average. The location worked well for us since we just wanted something on our way through the city. There... More

this pet friendly motel is conveniently located close to Lakehead U. The former Sleeping Giant motel (I miss, in order, the lounge and the neon) is NOT for those expecting world class accommodations. Friendly staff with the coffee pot always on, easy walk to some quick meals (skip the Robin's Donuts and try the Java Hut), central to Fort William... More

When we first entered our room we were greeted with an unpleasant odor, that you would get used to while in the room, but would greet you again upon re-enter. The carpets, linens, furnishings are all very old and should be updated. The lightning in the bathroom is not adequate. The staff were very friendly and efficient, but the overall... More

The staff at the Thunder Bay Super 8 are very nice and helpful, sadly the hotel is old, old, old. The carpet in our room was newer, but the rest of the room is in need of updating. I think they are in the process, but there is a lot of work that needs to be done. The bathrooms need... More

Be careful when bidding off Priceline's name your own price. When they give you only the choice of a one star hotel, this is it! Won with a bid of $80 USD per night in June 2011. Travelling from Calgary to Toronto and needed a pitstop in Thunder Bay. Checked the bed for bed bugs and found none. Washroom was... More
