My friend and I stay in B&B Le Cartier when we visit Montreal May 2012. It's amazing how friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and flexible the owner and staff are. If you believe 'hanging with the locals' is the best way to travel, you definitely have to stay here. Many thanks to Richard and Scott! You Guys Rock!!! Ethan

Me and wife stayed in this B&B for couple of nights for a business visit to Montreal from Melbourne, Australia. We loved the stay thoroughly. There were road works going on just outside at that time. However, Richard informed us of the situation earlier and we were fine as we didn't stay at the day time inside the hotel. I... More

My female friend and I stayed in the ensuite studio room (spacious and cosy) for three nights. Two separate beds. Very good price (CDN$ 100 per night). Good bathroom and we loved the idea of having our own place for breakfast. Good choice of cereals and bagels. Richard, the owner, is kind of sarcastic, but was very helpful and gave... More

The previous reviews say it all... it is fantastic value. Great location, close to metro and nearby cafes, restaurants, supermarket, shops and nightlife of the Village area of Montreal. During the 6 days we spent there we felt safe walking around the area, day or night. The rooms are tastefully decorated; bedlinen and bath towels are of a good quality... More

Le Cartier was the perfect choice for my daughter and myself on our shopping trip to Montreal. We stayed for one week and loved it. Only minutes away to the metro so we were able to get around to everywhere we wanted. Richard was very helpful and gave us lots of guidance as to where to find everything we needed.... More

Overall we had a good time here, the accommodation and room was really nice and comfortable. Good value, and good 'do it yourself' breakfast facilities. However, Richard (the owner) despite being knowledgable, was at times a little rude - or at least in our opinion. We also didn't have a great time in Montreal compared to other eastern canadian cities... More

I stayed at le Cartier for 5 nights and had a great stay. I choose the ensuite studio room, which was spacious and comfy. It was lovely decor with large bed, open plan sitting room area and a little breakfast area. Shower was hot and powerful, Internet free and reliable. Lovely attention to details from the decor, the soft towels,... More

Perfect choice for a stay in Montreal, Le Cartier is on a quiet road but is still walking distance to resturants, bars, supermarkets and the Metro system ( which is very efficient). The suites are are good size, the kitchenette is well equiped and there's a good selection for breakfast.

The B&B was lovely, very clean, and the hosts were friendly and helpful. I wanted a place away from the hustle of a business conference, but easy to get to and from: this was it! it is close to a metro stop and walking distance from St. Catherine for food and fun. If you like to walk, getting downtown or... More

We stayed this past weekend at Le Cartier. Richard is an amazing host, with extensive knowledge of the downtown Montreal area restaurants and shopping. His B&B is immaculately kept and offers large rooms with comfortable beds, and clean washroom facilities. Breakfast is available, in a serve yourself manner. This suited us perfectly, as we were free to eat when it... More
