Stayed two nights, Our building was a blast from the past but in need of repair we were a bit reluctant to drink the water stored from the asbestos roof...however there was a filter on one of the taps...could be very cold in winter....Very remote place 30 k from bitumen and it was wet so road access was not for... A couple of nights at Cape Bourda Lighthouse is a different kind of an experience. No need to find the torch as the light shines through the little cottage four times with a twenty second break. We were there in the first week of May and shared our night with the Ranger in his neighbouring house, the Light and the... More

Throw the norm out the window and try something exceptional, there is a million dollar view of the Lighthouse beacon from the window at night. Sunsets are dramatic and colourful, spectacular photography, sunrise has muted pinks and mauves.... it is peaceful and soulful just to be at Cape Borda. The Roo's hang out from late afternoon, and watching the mother's... More

Our second stay in the lighthouse hut at Cape Borda over Easter did not disappoint. The basics were all there plus friendly keepers (& wildlife) on arrival, solitude as the only guests overnight, serenity overlooking the majestic ocean, beautiful wilderness walks through Harvey's return and Ravine des Cassoars, and more of the relaxation that runs deep at cape Borda. We... More

A wonderful place, so quiet and peaceful yet full of interesting history and gorgeous views. The sunset was magnificent. House was clean and well presented with loads of space. The Ranger was very welcoming and had a wealth of information about early shipping to Australia. Kangaroos everywhere. Absolutely memorable.

Had a wonderful time. Sea was blue, kangaroos were numerous, history fascinating. Thanks to Mick and Trevor. Great walking all around. Wild and rugged coast. Hope to be back. The house was comfortable and extremely well equipped. Loved the organ and the radio waS very welcome. Lovely to go without Tv for a while and look at the stars.

My family didn't know what to expect and it was kind of a surprise to them when they learned that I booked us in. We were amazed by the place. Firstly the location is just incredible secondly you are alone, thirdly the kangaroos say good night and good morning to you in the backyard, forth the people in charge of... More

I spent my last night on a two-month trip in Cape Borda in the Woodward Hut and it was absolutely magical. I made the booking on site after a daytrip there, the place is so amazing it needs to be seen. With an oceanview of 180 degrees, the only thing blocking it from the cabin window a beautiful lighthouse, you... More

We'd already stayed at Cape Willoughby, and this was even better. Lovely old period furniture; even an electric organ to play on ! We stayed in Flinders Light Lodge. Comfy, cosy rooms. Well-equipped kitchen. Watching the lighthouse beams shining out during a rain shower was so beautiful. As per Cape Willoughby, the last few kilometers of the road in is... More

Stayed in the historic Woodward Hut, basic, clean with all the facilities you need - upmarket camping really. But the location and enthusiasm of Ranger Mick make up for any short fall. Amazing location, great walks in the area, fantastic history, and the tour brings it all together. The rhythmic light sweeping across the grounds at night is a sight... More
