When you enter the hotel, it feels like time stood still for a couple of decades - I mean this in a positive way. Very authentic feeling and charm! It is basic so if you wan't luxury, don't go there. But for those travelers that look for a hotel that is both inexpensive, clean and charming, this is a good... More

On first appearance the guys in reception are a bit cold, but once I took the room and started to chat they were very nice. The rooms are basic but have a real 50's charm about them. It looks like they haven't changed anything for decades, but the bed was firm the sheets were clean and it was quiet. The... More

Spotless, basic, affordable. Just a few blocks from the Zocalo. I usually stay at the Monkey Hostal when I'm in Campeche but I was not feeling well so wanted a quiet, affordable, clean hotel with a private room. This place fit the bill. They have deceptive 'restaurant style' seating in the courtyard but, alas, no breakfast, which would have made... More

Spotlessly clean budget hotel in Campeche historic district. Plenty of hot water and eclectic furniture. Also has a nice courtyard. Friendly owners and the price is right at just 170 pesos for a single. More

We took a look at this place as much to confirm the impressions we had from reading reviews here, as to consider it as a place to stay. It is worth looking at, but look straight ahead and don't give the owners reason to glare at you (LOL). I suspect that if they do give you a second glance it... More

For this price it is good to get a bathroom albeit a very small one. Hot water was rather intermittent. The rooms are quite amusing in that the building is very old and all plumbing and wiring is external. Having said that the building is attractive and charming and the rooms are cool and have a fan. Ask to see... More

This room was not modern or great, but it was quite clean and big enough. The (old) staff was not really friendly, but the hotel is close located to the center... Good for one night. We paid 248 pesos for a room with a fan and two beds. By the way: we stayed in December, and the one blanket that... More

The stay at hotel Colonial was like travelling back in time. I am sure that nothing in this hotel has changed since, say, the 50s. Lovely old folks run this meticulous and no-frills place in an absolutely charming yet resolute way. The room was quiet, small and very turquoise. The tiny bathroom is built into the room, like you find... More

The location is absolutely central, walking distance to the central plaza, the seaside and the second class bus terminal (for the first class terminal you can take a taxi). The rooms are clean, but for their unattractive appearance we named this hotel "ex-psychiatric ward". However, the staff are fairly helpful, will call a taxi for you if you pay the... More

This hotel is in a good location, but it is very basic, the words no frills certainly apply here. Whilst it is dated, there are some quirky features which are amusing. It can be pretty noisy in the mornings though when the staff (who all seem to be 80+) start clacking away on a very ancient typewriter. It was a... More
