This is an excellent B&B - we had a very big, very comfortable bed (twins but made up as a double) and everything you could want in the room. Breakfast was excellent - lots of choice and cooked to order. Very good value for money.

On our way back from holiday in Cornwall, we visited Montacute House, hoping to enjoy the usual fine cream teas on offer with National Trust. Unfortunately, due to high winds, the house had to close, resulting in having to go in the village for sustenance, and recommended by the staff.
We liked the look of the toy museum/tea room, so...

Took the 9yr old kids in the easter holidays to the toy museum. Happy to pay the £6.99 adult fee, £4.99 for children (total cost £16.97) before we went in. We were full of excitement however, this was all over so quickly as we got round it in 10-15 mins max.
It was so cold as no heating (it was...

We stopped in here on our way to holiday in Cornwall. We weren't overly impressed. The service was really slow... 35 minutes for cold food. When it arrived it was very average and portion sizes were on the small side. We also ordered white bread, but all got brown. Kids didn't like this but just could not be bothered to...

Our en suite family room was very well appointed. Recently decorated, new towels, power shower, wifi, in room, tv & tea making facilities. Great breakfast freshly cooked to order.
There is a pub about 20 yards down the road. Looked good, didn't go in.
The shop around the Toy & Radio museum is well worth a look. Some amazing things...

Stayed here 3 nights over a Bank Holiday weekend in a single room. I stayed 3 nights as I was cycling the Tour of Wessex and found the B & B comfortable, quiet, and reasonably priced.
My host was pleasant, accommodated my bike in the conservatory/breakfast room and as I needed to make an early start each day was very...

The rooms are set within a very interesting Toy and Radio Museum, which adds a a quirky, interesting atmosphere. The single room had a shower and basin but no toilet, however there is one nearby.
There is a breakfast menu and the breakfast room is the tearoom of the museum, which is airy and light.
The owners are very friendly...

I first went to the TV, Radio and Toy museum about 7 years ago, after my cousin insisted I 'just had to see it'.
Then I went back to see it again and spend more time, in the lovely village, see the NT house and to stay in the B&B and enjoy the Tearooms. All 5 Star attractions.
The Museum...

This was our tenth annual stay and surely that says it all! Everything about it is immaculate, spotlessly clean, extremely friendly, relaxed, quiet and in a beautiful location for Montacute village, Montacute House (NT) and easy access for excellent local walks. Some people may find the attic rooms a little small, but for us this is easily compensated for by...

Hello Moderators....the business here at 1 South St Montacute is the tea rooms, B and B and Museum all rolled into one on the same site so maybe the listing should include the word museum as well. http://www.montacutemuseum.co.uk/ Anyway here's my review....
If you're forty or fifty something and have watched TV from an early age.....and appreciate English eccentricity this...
