After 6 hours driving and not having a reservation we knocked on Lesley's door and her smiling let us forgot the last 600 km and how tired we were. We had a wonderful double room with a huge and ver comfortable bed. Breakfast in the morning was rich and very delightful, with a self made lemon curd. We will come... More

My friend and I stayed here whilst walking the South Downs Way. This is a very large house and our room was very spacious, light and airy. The bathroom was very nice with an excellent shower and heated towel rail (great for drying damp walking gear). Lesley allowed us to dry our wet walkibg boots in her lovely warm boiler... More

My father had stayed at Downs View several times, so it was the obvious place to stay when I visited Upper Beeding. The rooms are delightful, each featuring a different colour scheme. Lesley and Ron cannot do enough to be helpful, while at the same time making one feel completely at home. I recommend Downs View wholeheartedly.

A brilliant B&B. We stayed as a family of 4 in the very spacious Lilac Room - even with a huge 6' 6" bed for us, and 2 singles for our son and daughter there was plenty of room for us all. Great bathroom too - a surprisingly big en-suite equipped with all the toiletries you'd need plus purple rubber... More

By far the best B&B we stayed in while walking the south downs way. You can tell the moment you walk in this is a passion rather than a job for Lesley. The whole place is lovingly fitted out - we had a wet room with walk in shower which was a real treat after walking 16 miles!! The touches... More

Stayed here whilst walking the South Downs Way. One of the best B&B's ever. Lesley is so kind and a lovely cook. Home baked bread and a great breakfast.Very good vegetarian choices too. You can even order a take away and eat in the dining room. (We ate in the village - choice of two pubs though the nearest wasn't... More

I had the pleasure to stay in the above b&b, what an absolute pleasure, this should be a 5* b&b. The place was excellent and as for the breakfast that was amazing. I was amazed at how friendly and welcoming the family were and the rooms were done to such a high standard.

Like everyone else posting a review here, I could probably write pages gushing about how wonderful our stay was at Downs View. What was especially touching was the kindness Ron and Lesley showed our girls, 3 and 5 years old. First, our girls were so excited to find cartoon animal sheets and duvets on their beds when we first entered... More

We went down to visit the South Downs in April. The Downs View is an excellent choice for location, sitting just off the South Downs Way, with a variety of places to eat all within walking distance. Brighton is also a short drive away. But what sets this B&B apart from all the others are Lesley & Ron, who run... More

Lesley and Ron fully deserve the credits posted on Tripadvisor. They are both wonderful hosts and the fantastic quality of their B&B Downs View is a great credit to them. The breakfast is wonderful. A great place to stay overnight for anyone walking on the South Downs Way.
