good hotel for the price, good location in Kuala Selangor. on ground floor, food is all right and cheap. most of the staff is friendly except for the boss at reception who only try to get some more money but that part of the game in Malaysia. the rooms are pretty spacious. You may still have to ask to check... More

We stayed at Melawati Ria after a night of watching fireflies at Kampung Kuantan. The location is excellent, not too far from the firefly viewing point, and within walking distance to Bukit Malawati. Finding the hotel is easy. There is a Maybank conveniently situated next to the the hotel too. We arrived quite late, around 11pm but the surrounding area,... More

We splashed out on the previous three hotels on our road trip and for the price this was a steal. Compared with our first place in the Cameron Highlands (see tripadvisor for my review of Balas) this was great. The room was very basic but very clean and spacious. The beds are newer and very comfortable and big. The "queen"... More

We stayed one night in this place and they gave us room 101. When we got to the room, we found ants crawling all over the bed. This prompted a closer inspection of the mattress to confirm our suspicions; the bed was infested with bed bugs (pictures attached) We refused to stay in that room and the manager gave us... More

Just so you know, I am not very fussy when it comes to hotels – i usually think most negative reviews on hotel sites are over the top rants over minute details. That said, Melawati Ria Hotel is most probably the WORST hotel I've ever been to. INCREDIBLY NOISY, dirty, uncomfortable bed (broken, actually), stained towels, people shouting in the... More

Locatec at the foothill of Bukit Melawati, this hotel Is a good place for an overnight stay after watching the fireflies. There are plenty of amenities around, from clinic to banks and decent eateries. Get the ground floor room if you can, it can fit 7 comfortably. Parking is scarce though.

This is a basic room with bed and bathroom. There is air con in some of the rooms. Our room also had a tv. Ask for instructions on how to use the hot water as it is complicated if you have used an instant system before. Bring your own toilet paper. For $20, its quiet, safe and clean. There is... More

Staying at mid-range budget hotels during our whole stay in Malaysia (14 days+) this turned out to be the most comfortable and cleanest but still the cheapest room we stayed in.Renovation was ongoing, rooms newly painted and lovely new , comfortable beds with real bedsheets (not just blankets)made us sleep like logs in our spacious room. Situated almost opposite to... More
