Our walking group of 16 OAPS [mainly] spent four nights at the Fairfax, and it worked out really well, despite wet weather. Stayed here for two nights and was hugely impressed. The Fairfax provides excellent accommodation at a great price and also serves wonderful food. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. I really enjoyed my stay and fully intend to return. This is a very good establishment which deserves all the plaudits it receives.

We stayed in the executive suit through a Groupon voucher, we received a first class reception and through out they stay it was made a pleasure by the staff including making arrangements for our breakfast to be had in our room before our early departure to venture out on a steam train! Just had 2 nights here and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The Hotel suited us perfectly and the food was lovely - best steak pie I've had for ages. Some great walks in the woods nearby and also very handy for Helmsley from where we walked to Riveaux Abbey on the Cleveland Way.
