I dont write reviews usually but this was such a rare find. Lovely comfortable rooms, cool staff. Our family was well looked after and even the friends we were visting came in for breakfast. Booking was professional and knowledgable staff helped us find stuff to do in York. well well recommended. Its up for sale so visit before new owners... More

I tried to post this during my trip but didnt quite work just had to let you guys know, so am posting again. Great place to stay just outside York highly recommended. Stayed here last month, Jan 06, and it made our trip to York special. The rooms were great, the building was full of history. The staff we friendly and brilliant. Breakfast was excellent and the Indian curry on Friday Night was out of this world. Highly recommended. Richard and Beth, Leeds, UK

We have just returned from a week in Yorkshire. The Riverside hotel is lovely, not much to look at from the outside but the warmest welcome imaginable. Sam ( the owner) bent over backwards to ensure our stay was comfortable. Right from the start, we go lost and a single phone call to Riverside, had us back on the right... More
