Must start this review by saying that all of the staff that we encountered were friendly, polite & efficient, it's important to note that this opinion is solely related to the quality of our room, that being room 01. We stayed for one night having had a lovely day walking around Chatsworth & the local area, we planned to stay... More

My girlfriend and I have frequented almost all of the Marstons Inns chains in the Peak District now. We found the Grouse and Claret to be a great stay! They called us as we were on our way (we were running a little late) just to confirm we were still coming and also to let us know that food would... More

Having used the Grouse and Claret for three nights whilst attending a Wedding at Hassop Hall I admit to mixed feelings. We stayed on the Caravan Site behind the property, run by the hotel, whilst son and daughter were in a hotel room. They were very satisfied with the hotel but we had reservations about the facilities on the site.... More

Booked the Grouse & Claret while on our trip around the UK through Late Rooms. The room (02) was really nice and the bathroom had a bath over the shower. The restaurant meals were nice and the service fast. We enjoyed it so much we went back on Late Rooms and rebooked for two further nights. We had room (01)... More

Only stayed with a last minute booking via laterooms on mobile phone £59 for a double and arrived 10 mins later to a warm greeting from Jon the manager. Good value and room (6) was spacious with large bathroom / shower over the bath. The place is a very popular eating spot with good value menu and large number of... More

8 rooms, very spacious and well maintained. Friendly atmosphere, good food and good prices. As a B&B can't beat the price £55 for single person in double room. Good base for Peak District. Will return.

Spent a few days cycling in this area, and stayed at this accommodation. It was very nice, and the staff and the Manager made us very welcome. The rooms were clean and tidy and very comfortable and excellent value for money. Had an evening meal and the food was excellent and it was nice to think you did not have... More

Sunday evening is a night when several places are shut so we were pleased to find this large pub open and willing to serve us as they were close to closing kitchen. But the food, from a very long menu aiming to cater for everyone was disappointing, standard ping food. How else could a menu allow 4 of us to... More
