Upon arrival as was at the mercy of an "up-sell" you can have this for that etc.... let me arrive. The Hotel was busy, lifts are old an inadequate for the capacity, took forever to get up or down. Long wait to get "into" breakfast with the staff taking forever to locate spare tables......And they charge you £12.50 per night... More

Kindly located here as one of the many delegates attending a national industry conference being held within - so clearly rather a capacious establishment with all the requisite facilities to cope with a large herd of earnest suit-wearers. The hotel itself is a big heritage pile dating back to 1865, and in an elevated prime position in what seemed to... More

Pros - Good health club. Steam room and sauna excellent. Good breakfast. Central location. Cons - They charge you extra for just about everything. NO free internet and NO free parking. In this day and age these two things should be free. My company had already paid for several of us to stay at the hotel but the reception staff... More

Excellant service from all staff. The room was clean and extremely comfortable. We had planned meals and a gala dinner here as part of the two day conference and you could not fault the flavours, variety and quantity. The conference facilities were excellant.

Pros - great bar - great breakfast - everything you can wish for in a hotel breakfast - location great for going anywhere in central Bristol - very clean, great beds, high levels of staff service, spacious rooms Cons - central location so avoid room facing the Hippodrome/ waterfront as very noisy on saturday - had to move rooms as... Have stayed at this hotel about 10 times now , have experienced all sorts of rooms from the cheapest to a suite , and never had a problem. Perfect position for everything . Stayed again on the 12th may , and had another great stay , checked in at 1pm because my room was free, just by luck though ,... More

I've stayed in quite a few of the Bristol hotels and this is my favourite. We had a superior room, and it was very comfortable. From arrival to check out I loved it here and will definitely be going back. Make sure that you check out the leisure club while you're here- we checked in around 7pm, went for a... More

Every time we stay in Bristol city centre, we stay here. Service is excellent, rooms are very well furnished, although the mattresses are not quite as comfortable as those in other hotels in the Marriott chain. Large sized baths and excellent showers. Great city centre location - walk to everything in the centre including: Park Street, University of Bristol, Bristol... More

This hotel has to be in the best location in Bristol - right on College Green. The hotel has a great underground car park with stairs and a decent sized lift to take you up to the hotel. The hotel is very well decorated and retains a classic feel (unlike some of Marriott's more modern looking hotels). Our room overlooked... More

We booked a suite for 3 nights in April. My daughter was getting married in Bristol so we had a suite so she could get ready in the hotel with her friends. It's a good looking old fashioned hotel with large public areas but it is in need of refurbishment. There are not enough reception staff, who although friendly and... More
