We had 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Andy, the landlord, made us extremely welcome but then so did the locals. Really well kept beer which we thoroughly enjoyed with no drive home. Meals good value and breakfast more than generous. Amazing value for money.

A delightful gem of a country pub with plenty of charm. In terms of warm welcoming hosts you couldn't ask for more. The room was beautiful with plenty of period features. Spent the evening in the bar joining the regulars and enjoying the fine well kept ales.

Wake up to birdsong in the heart of the countryside in this charming pub. You're far enough from town light pollution to make it a star-gazer's delight, but not too far from roads that will give you access to explore the environs. The rooms are comfortable and homely. Andy and his staff are really friendly and go out of their... More

For our last night after two weeks in England, we wanted a place convenient for a flight out of Heathrow but we wanted to be in the country, too. Gatehangers Inn was exactly what we had in mind. The setting is quiet and rural, and in the morning it was an easy one-hour drive to Heathrow. We stayed on a... More

We stayed at the Gatehangers Inn for the night, as we were attending a local wedding and we could not be happier with the hospitality or the quality of the entire stay. Andy and his family made us feel welcome from the beginning, the room was large and comfortable and the breakfast was top-notch. This is a lovely pub on... More

What a great place. Andy and his wife were hugely welcoming from the moment we stepped over their threshold. The pub is traditional and the rooms are as well. Our bathroom was quite small but clean. The bedroom was nicely furnished and plenty of space. The bed was really comfy and the linen (towels and sheets etc) was all clean... More

We arrived early. Andy's greeting was friendly and helpful. The room was fine and the silence at night very pleasant. The breakfast was filling to say the least - and freshly cooked. Next time we're in the Aylesbury area we wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else. If you are a person who likes standardised approaches, this isn't for you. If... More

What a wonderful place to stay. Andy is the perfect host... friendly, helpful, and always smiling. Nothing is too much trouble for Andy. Our twin room was warm and cosy with a lovely country view, and our bathroom spacious and clean. The Inn is in a fantastic spot, quiet and peaceful. The pub is quaint and lovely. Fantastic breakie too.... More
