The 1st floor rooms are very big and comfortable and the staff are very helpful. It s just a bit jaded in places. Gym equipment is old and neither mirror or tv I front of treadmill makes it even more dull running there. Like most older seaside hotels the bathrooms are all a bit different & a few cracks in... Me and my partner stayed for a long weekend for 2 nights from fri to sun. The room was small but spotless we upgraded for £20 per night for a sea view, which was well worth it. It's a grand hotel with lots of pretty historical features but the decor of the rooms needs updating. The shower wasn't that good... More

We stayed at this hotel last month through a Groupon deal so was excellent value for money! We had a beautiful large room at the front of the hotel, it was in excellent order and beautifully presented. The reception and spa staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful, however the breakfast staff in the restaurant could have been a little more... More

Although I had a nice room and added bonus of a seperate lounge and 4 poster bed I felt all in all it was about right for what I paid for 2 nights (are you ready) £340. Breakfast was 1st class with a good choice and quick friendly service. Plenty of choice cooked to perfection. Biggest criticism is we ate... More

I was traveling with my boyfriend on business and this was our first stop. The hotel is in a fantasic location, the decor is plush and my boyfriend did book an amazing room with a fantastic sea view. I am a Coeliac and the food was great, a lot of choice and gluten free bread ready availble. Would definatly stay... More

This hotel is let down by a 1980's approach to breakfast. Firstly a 2hr window which ensures people waiting to be seated by teenagers with minimal CS. Dirty tables, cutlery missing, basic small breakfast, people with hands in the air asking to be served etc etc you get the picture. Staff are friendly enough but Basil would been proud how... More

This is a very good hotel for what we paid, it depends on what your needs are in Newquay, as I went down to join with a stag group (who was camping) this hotel was in a great central position, Berties next door (big bar & nightclub) 5 min walk to central & sailors, 3 min to walkabout, 1 min... We booked a 2 night stay last weekend with a groupon voucher. After reading some of the reviews I had some concerns as I had not booked a sea view room & my hubby advised me he had stayed in the rowdy dorm stag/hen party accommodation @ Berties next door. On arrival I looked to upgrade to a sea view... More

Having decided in a two night trip down to Newquay, my partner & I were very much looking forward to our stay. I trawled the Internet for a good deal & read almost every review there was - which for this hotel are surprisingly generous! After a 6 hour drive my excitement quickly turned to disappoinment! Check in was quick... More

Groupon voucher for £119 two nights including one spa treatment. SOLD! We paid an extra £20 per night for a sea view and this is a must because the alternative view is out over a busy street with a club, a sports bar and many shops and restaurants. And anyway why wouldn't you want to look out over the beach... More
