This was a Friday evening visit to eat. Last week. We have been many times before, over many years. On not one occasion - ever - has anyone in our varying-sized group (at least 5, and up to about 10) ever had a word of negativity about this pub/restaurant. It is truly superb. In fact its more than that; its... More

We spent a most enjoyable evening at the Admiral Benbow celebrating my number one grand-daughter's 14th birthday. Our seating area had been decorated with "Happy Birthday" and balloons. The food was excellent (steaks piled high with onion rings), etc. and a children's menu also. The waitresses were attentive and helpful. We will be back! Highly recommended.

We stumbled across this unique pub on a very rainy day, the staff were very welcoming to our large party of 7 and 3 dogs. Impressed with the menu we came back later that evening for a meal. Unfortunately the service was not what we had hoped and expected. Five of us wanted the sharer seafood platter for two, on... More

We visited the Admiral Benbow on Saturday 18th May 2013 for a few drinks after a meal at a restaurant. Great quirky place which had been recommended to us by our B&B (The Pendennis), which I'm so glad they did as we really liked it here. Friendly service... seemed to be a popular place. They had some good music playing... More

Ate here over Easter holidays, lunch on a very quiet day. We were made very welcome and never felt forgotten about. The food was excellent (fish pie is a must!) The baby was made welcome and got a highchair and his food warmed up. Great atmosphere! We loved looking at all the crazy things.

Called in on a very wet lunch time and received a very warm welcome. Service was attentive and excellent, even providing bar towels to remove the excess water from our dripping hair! It was, however, a very quiet day due no doubt to the atrocious weather. The quirky interior is fascinating and we couldn’t believe how large the place is.... More

First time here for a mid-day lunch. On entering we hesitated for a moment because of the rather cluttered interior. But, a very warm welcome enticed us in and we did not regret it. Whilst we waited for food, we stared at the unique interior decor and the low ceiling made for a cabin type atmosphere. Not many others visiting... More

We visited on a rugby trip (Dundee) to play the Cornish Pirates and met some of our new friends from the home game here. The food on the buffet (provided by Nick and Dave) was excellent especially the battered fish and home made chips. Very attentive staff particularly Jules the manageress was really welcoming. Atmospheric and well worth a visit.... More

I recently stayed in the Artists Residence opposite the Admiral Benbow. So naturally after working in the area, colleagues and I had to go to the Admiral for a pint or 2 to d-stress. This is a great pub, very small and cozy. The beer is kept beautifully and their burgers are top notch. Burger rating 8 out of 10.... More

After reading the reviews we decided to stop at the Admiral Benbow for lunch on our visit to Chapel Street, Penzance. It's a very old and cosy pub full of character. We were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed our pub lunch. We would definitely return.
