4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 May 2013 NEW

The food is very good with a wide choice at breakfast and excellent evening meals as part of an HF holiday. The service is also very good. I had been informed by the holiday company that the room was small but it was smaller than I had imagined. In the bed area I could touch the opposite walls at the... More

My husband and I stayed 3 nights for an HF Holidays walking trip. Because of the attractive price and some sites describing the hotel as "budget", my expectations were low. Chy Morvah exceeded every one! Although the common areas were far from luxe, the staff made up for it in their enthusiasm and general bon homie. The food (the trip... More

stayed here at new year with a group of friends on a HF walking holiday. They have the main house and Lanyons. We had a great room (no44) in Lanyons with double aspect view over the bay, complimentary towelling robe and slippers etc. Hf do a good break with three grades of walk offered each day ( You can opt... In late May,2012, we went to Cornwall, England to participate in a week-long walking holiday run by HF Holidays, a British tour company that owns its own hotels in England. (The program is a lot like Elderhostel - all inclusive lodging, meals, and led walking tours every day with programs in the evening.) Chy Morvah provided a wonderful base from... More

Booked at the last minute and got a pretty decent deal for two of us staying there. It is close enough to walk to the harbour and has well kept grounds and an outdoor pool. The reception area is looking a tired and we were on fact greeted by an envelope to tell us where our room was located. Rather... More

We knew that this was different as soon as we arrived. No reception desk with a usual receptionist but a warm greeting from 3 very helpful people who showed us to our room & advised us that a 'welcome tea' would be served at 4 o'clock in the lounge. Imagine our surprise to find all the other guests there &... More

We booked a self-guided walking holiday with HF, staying for 7 days at Chy Morvah, on a full board basis. We got the train to St Ives and walked uphill to the hotel, which is no more than 10 minutes away. The room was very comfortable and spacious; the walls to next door were a little thin but we slept... More

In view of the distance, we travelled by train. The nearest you can get to St Ives by rail is St Erth. Note you have to go over the footbridge at St Erth to exit the station. There is no lift and no other exit as far as I could see. You then have to get a local train to... More

We arranged another walking holiday with HF again this year, we intended to meet with friends we'd met from last year. We booked Chy Morvah in St Ives. After a 6hr drive to the house we were welcomed by Jen & Jamie who were great hosts. We were allocated a large family room, the room was BIG, it could have... More
