I had a spa break with my husband last November..a great room and dinner was included in the price which was very good..But the welcome and professionalism of the Spa Team and Therapists was appalling!! The massage was so soft and the Therapist did not have a clue how to be friendly and deliver a good treatment. It felt like she... More

Stayed for one night in October, the room was very clean and well presented. It was dark when we arrived but the view over the bay in the morning was stunning... great views from the restaurant too if you stay for breakfast. Parking a bit of a faff as you have to park up the road on a disused forecourt... More

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights at the beginning of June on a B&B basis. The hotel itself was very well presented and had clearly gone through some kind of refurb. It was very clean and well located with only a 5 min walk to/from the train station. The room we was allocated was clean... More

Attended a wedding reception in May 2012, and found hotel to be shabby and vastly overpriced for the condition it is in, musty and smelly. Good view if you are able to see the sea, but be careful with your car as they managed to lose mine for about 40 minutes. There is limited parking so they take it away... More

A great hotel if your looking for something luxurious. However we did go for the cheap option room. The bed was incredibly soft and tiny. My husband slept on the floor on the mattress topper. The spa facilities made up for the lack of sleep. Friendly staff that were helpful. Such a beautiful town. Worth spending a couple of nights... More

This hotel is being modernised and while it looks smart it lacks the previous grandeur and character. I have stayed here many times out of season because of the hotels policy to upgrade guest to better rooms when the hotel is quiet. However, on this visit the reception staff allocated me a land view room overlooking a building site (new... More

We stayed at the Porthminster in July 2011. We thought hotels like this had become extinct. If we had to sum it up with one word it would be "musty". Everything seemed old or dirty. The furniture had stains. Floorboards creaked. Service was non existent. We wouldn't mind if the hotel was cheap but it wasn't. In it's favor, the hotel... More

We stayed at the Porthminster for a weekend when we at a wedding in St Ives. Although we had a fantastic time in St Ives and also very much enjoyed the wedding breakfast which was at the Porthminster, we were not overly impressed with the hotel as a place to stay. For the price that we had to pay for... More

We loved our room, it was spacious, had an incredibly comfortable 4 poster bed, and the views overlooking the sea were fantastic. We had dinner in the restaurant the first evening, of which we both enjoyed without a hint of food envy! I really liked how the tables had all been laid out, so as all guests could enjoy the... More
