I have been to several B&B's in the UK, and so far no one can compare with Rivendell! We do get a real great start with a pot of tea or coffe, a real quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Most of the rooms seem to have a nice view and they are decorated nicely. The hosts are so warm and nice... More

Myself and my boyfriend stayed at the Rivendell guest house over Easter for 5 nights. Angela and Barrie are great hosts. Upon our arrival we were offered a pot of tea or coffee. Our room was very clean and comfortable. You have a large choice of options for breakfast with Angela offering more toast and tea or coffee. Angela and... More

Stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of April. Small, but very comfortable single room. Shared shower room which was spotless, and a very good breakfast in the morning, lovely. Not to far to walk down the hill into the beaches etc. I very much recommend.

Angela made us feel very welcome by making us a pot of tea upon our arrival. The view from the room was fantastic, overlooking the harbour, town and sea. The room was lovely, good choice of breakfasts and some lovely melon! Rivendel is ideally situated only a five minute walk to the sea and has ample parking, which is a... More

For our first trip to St ives, we searched the Internet for somewhere to stay and, what a lucky find the Rivendell Guest house was! The rooms were spotless with tasteful decor. Barrie is a photographer so beautiful pictures enhance all the walls. Complimentary biscuits were provided every day which was a nice touch. There was a portable radiator too... More

It was our lucky day when, searching on the internet for accommodation on our first trip to St. Ives, we found the Rivendell guest House. Angela and Barrie are welcoming and warm hosts. Our charming room was spotlessly clean and had a lovely view over the harbour.

We stayed at Rivendell Guest House in June 2011. Barrie and Angela run the guest house and make a huge effort to make you feel comfortable and well looked after. When we booked over the phone Angela was very friendly and helpful, and on arrival we got a very warm welcome and a cup of tea, which was lovely after... More

I first discovered St. Ives in 1973 and, having travelled abroad for many subsequent holidays, I decided to return in July 2008 when I booked into the Rivendell Guest House, quite by chance, after searching on the internet for accommodation. I found it a very comfortable, homely and welcoming guest house which is easily accessable and, in my opinion, ideally... More
