This hotel is well located for exploring the city centre and the cathedral. The hotel car park costs £10 a night. The public areas of the hotel are well-appointed and up-to-date. The room is pleasant and cosy. There is an ironing board, an iron and also a corby trouser press. There is a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and...

I've stayed many times at this hotel over the years during many changes of owner. I booked on line, and we were allotted a room where the bed sagged in the middle, the air cooling system didn't work, the sash cords on one window didn't work, and crashed as as tried to open it. The chairs in the room were...

Nice hotel, friendly front desk and great rooms. Doors are operated with oyster style cards which is much better than a swipe card. No free wifi which is why I can't rate it 5*, but still a great hotel in Exeter.
The hotel is in a central location. I arrived about 1215 from a flight and was advised I could not check in till 2pm. That is no big deal but no offer to store luggage and when i asked was told to put in an insecure area. The reception was polite but without any pleasantries. No suggestion to use the...

Not so good: - Room incredibly hot (even though not a warm week) and with non functioning temperature control. Raised with reception who...

A last minute booking for a work trip found me stepping through the door of the Mercure Exeter. As other reviews have commented, the front desk staff aren't the most smiley, friendly welcoming pair you'd ever meet, and the suggestion that I just "cross off" the entirely incorrect booking details on the customer form (correct name, wrong address, wrong email,...

The hotel was really nice looking, nice room and confy beds. We have nothing to complain about other than that the staff is not overly friendly. Breakfast is okay and the location is just downtonw Exeter.

Stayed last Saturday night just for one night. We chose this hotel as I did manage to get a reasonable deal on the internet and car parking is on site rather than in a multi storey car park or away from the hotel. There are plenty of spaces available although they do charge £10 for a 24 hour stay. The...
