A great hotel which is part of TLC but far enough away to be quiet and personal. Excellent food and always obliging staff in our experience. Some rooms a bit tired and one we have had noisy due to the kitchen fans, but the hotel responded to my complaint and that is to their credit. I recommend the cream tea... More

During our long weekend we experienced varying degrees of table service, ranging from good to "forgotten" We were at the far-end ot the raised area of the Restaurant and depending on the Waiting-on staff we were served quickly or hardly at all. Excellent bedroom etc.

Whilst the hotel is what you would expect for the price you pay, what you would not expect to pay was the very high prices to drink there. We paid £7:80 for a pint of local beer and a small glass of Orange and Lemonade. Do not visit this Hotel if you a planning a drinking weekend.

Thank you for your review. The price of £7.80 is not correct for the drinks that you have stated. I am not sure what has happened but if you would like to contact me I will be happy to remedy for you. Our bar prices are very average for the area as we aim in keeping our customers in house... More

My husband always wanted me to see Torquay as it was his childhood holiday destination. He chose the Toorak hotel for it's central position and its ajacent spa as he wanted to treat me for our anniversary. And what a treat it was ... NOT!!! The hotel was noisy and smelly, the room was tatty, the furniture dated, the carpet... More

My wife and I visited the Toorak again this year on a dancing weekend which was very enjoyable. The room we were allocated this time was exceptional and hopefully we will now ask for the same room again when we go visiting. The reception / waitresses / and staff in general at this hotel compared to the other 3 hotels... More
