Stayed at this hotel for one night as was attending a conference that was held at the hotel. The hotel was easy to find and there is an overflow carpark. The hotel has massive grounds. I was happy to learn that my room was ready earlier than I expected. The lobby was clean and the staff was friendly which made... More

This hotel is in a great location with a fantastic little 9 hole course. The service is fantastic, the staff are great and the food is awesome. However for the 21st century it's not acceptable anymore. The rooms are terrible and urgently need updating. The beds are too soft, the bathrooms not the best and rooms are very 1980s. There... More

This hotel belongs to the past. It might have looked great 20 years ago, but needs a major refurbishment to belong to the 4star category! Carpet in the bathroom, filthy wallpaper, terrible matresses are some of the things that make the rooms simply terrible! Yes there is a pool outside and nice gardens and tennis courts...bbut these simply do not... More

Yes the bedrooms are tired and need a ton of money spending on them however the service, food and grounds still make this an excellent weekend destination. The breakfast is scrummy, very hot and fresh. The four course evening dinner is exceptional and if I were to make a negative comment it would be that I find the dinner service... More

We arrived at the hotel late afternoon. The main car park was full so we looked for the overflow as it wasn't clear if we could park in the 'garage' area. We followed the signage around the side of the hotel but where it forked in two it wasn't clear which direction to take so we followed the road around... More

we were initially very disappointed to find the outdoor pool closed a bed with a mattress that collapsed on impact and a T V remote that did not work. However after a chat with Mark Beedell the Operations Director the mattress and remote were replaced This is a lovely hotel but some rooms are better than others. The grounds are... More

Stayed a weekend and thought I was on a five start cruise with perfect dining - The hotel fabric is a bit tired but the ambience and service and food quality more than made up for it - will be back! The indoor pool was great and I felt like I was in an Agatha christie hotel - certainly not... More

Stayed at the hotel for the weekend attending a conference. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is great, ate breakfast, lunch and evening meals there. The indoor swimming pool is a good size, weather was not good enough to use the outdoor pool. Men and women had to share the ladies sauna as the men's sauna was... More

Stayed at The Palace for the weekend and had a lovely time. Could have stayed much longer without getting bored, the facilities are great. The gardens are immaculate and very pretty. The boys enjoyed the snooker room and playing golf (although the hire of the clubs and balls was quite pricey). The food was of a very high standard for breakfast... More

Just spent the weekend at this hotel. Although the rooms have seen better days and could do with a coat of paint and a revamp. The food was excellent. Both breakfast and dinner had plenty of choice, was served quickly and hot, also well presented. The hotel is located in Babbacombe so is a distance away from Torquay. The gardens... More
