4 of us stayed at the Ravenswood hotel in July,a 3 night break. Parking at the rear, only allows 4 cars but further parking (free of charge ) is available up the road to the side of the hotel.tickets/passes are available from reception. Rooms are of adequate size, shower, toilet and hand basin are a tight squeeze for the taller/larger guests. Rooms are... More

My partner and I have just returned from a 3 night stay and found this hotel to be lovely. As with most hotels there is good and bad but in this case the good far out weighs any bad. Both Simon and his wife were very welcoming. The room (7 - top floor) was a good size and en suite,... More

The hotel is located conveniently close to that harbour, shops and nightlife. The train station is also within walking distance. We had a double room that had freeview TV and ample tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was ensuite and adequately sized. The breakfast was good and there was a wide choice ranging from a full cooked breakfast to... More

We have revently stayed 4 nights at The Ravenswood. It is in a very central location and offers parking facilities. Restaurants and bars are only a few mins walk away and so is the harbour. The owners are very pleasant and helpful. We had a front facing double room, overlooking Torwood Gardens. The room was clean and comfortable, in fact the... More

We booked this hotel after reading the good reviews it received, but were a little concerned that all of them dated from 2007, and the bad one it got was from April 2008. However, we have just returned from a three-day stay at the Ravenswood hotel and throughly enjoyed our visit there. The owner Simon was extremely friendly and helpful,... More

On booking in, owner seemed pleasant but his wife wasn't very friendly. Rooms were fairly small and the family room we had was shabby in decor, with paint splodges on the walls, cracking paint, removed locks and holes in doors, no bulb in hallway light, noisy toilet, banging water pipes through the night, yucky bathroom tiles ad just generally needed... We welcome constructive comments and this guest's comments were accurate at the time. We have used the comments as an impetus to redecorate the room (May 2008). You will see from the other reviews that this review of doesn't reflect the general state of our rooms. but the cumulative effect of children on our family room decoration. Simon More

If you're looking for a hotel with a friendly and cozy atmosphere then you'll enjoy your stay at the Ravenswood. I was there with my boyfriend's family (5 persons) and all agreed that it was a very pleasant stay. What I really liked: 1) location (near the next shopping centre, restaurants and the sea) 2) friendly and warm atmosphere as... More

My girlfriend and I booked this Hotel for a short break. Upon arrival we were welcomed by the owner Simon. He was very courteous and informative. Nothing we asked for was too much trouble. The room was very clean, tidy and spacious. The bed was great (after such a long drive). We loved the breakfast, very filling and well presented.... More
