Have to agree with previous reviews about the shabbiness of the decor. The place could definitely do with a makeover! The food is okay - pub grub - but there is a good breakfast choice. The staff are helpful but the hoovering could wait until after breakfast! However the view from the hotel room was wonderful, the bed was very... More

We used to come here regularly and the food is always good quality and served quickly. The staff are generally friendly. We hadn't spotted that there is now a dividing line that separates the dog and non dog friendly area (it's on a small chalkboard) but we were very quickly reminded of that (ouch - won't do that again!) It's... More

Great location on the seafront and very reasonably priced. Bit basic in decor and furnishings and food similarly rated by us! We eat out apart from one meal which was OK. Our room was large and comfortable with an obliaque sea view from our window. Staff very friendly and welcoming but having said that probably not a place we'd return... More

The Commodore has a great location on the cliff top opposite the Fishermans Walk Cliff Lift and Zig-zag Path down to the beach and we were fortunate to have a corner room with windows facing the sea and also looking along the Overcliffe Drive towards Boscombe. This hotel could have so much going for it, but sadly it is desperately,... More

We booked this hotel as a last minute break. It is easy to find and has a great location overlooking the sea and with shops within easy walking distance. Our room, which had recently been refurnished, was of a good size and and was well equipped and clean, as was the bathroom. It is a shame that the water flow from... More

Stayed here for one night as a last minute getaway. Room could do with a bit of TLC (as could whole hotel) but had a lovely side sea view. Worst part was one of the bath towels had small brown stains on it, I think it had been cleaned but these stains seemed permanent. Should have been checked by cleaners.... More

Stayed in a twin room with my young son. Absolutely fantastic value for money. Really friendly, helpful staff, great breakfast. Definitely come again as it was fantastically cheap. Expected much less than we got and was very pleased at how clean and modern it was. Fantastic and thankyou

Just arrived back from this delightful sea front Hotel,Pub/Restaurant. Stayed 3 nights from 8th January {Room14). The spectacular views across Poole bay take in Swanage to the West and Hengistbury Head and the Isle of Wight to the East. The Commodores location, close to the New Forest, and Bournemouth town centre, makes it an ideal base from which to explore Hampshire and Dorset.
