This is an old fashioned b&b in Bournemouth that has old fashioned values of cleanliness, fresh linen and replenished tea, coffee and hot chocolate sachets every day. The rooms are small but the bathrooms are a fair size. I never got to try the cooked breakfast as I had to be out before 8, which was earlier than breakfast was... More

Stayed at the Glenbourne with my husband and two friends early August. We had a wonderful time thanks to the friendly welcome and stay we had at the Glenbourne. The rooms were very large, clean and comfortable with everything you could need. Plenty of tea, coffee etc. which is topped up every day. Bathroom had all you need including shampoo,... More

We came for a week in March and experienced a range of weather conditions. On sunny days we were able walk along the beach which is situated at the end of the road (less than a 5min walk away). On rainy days we were able to make use of the excellent bus links to different areas, in which the bus... More

I spent four nights in The Glenbourne last October while on a fishing trip and used the hotel as a base for visiting Poole harbour and other local marks. This family run hotel, south of Bournmouth city centre is ideal for those who prefer to stay 'off the beaten track' and is suitable for families with small children. I was... More

I have stayed here a few times and have always appreciated the cleanliness and efficiency of this guest house. It's very traditional and in comparison to other guest houses I have stayed in locally has high standards, meaning that the house is quiet and welcoming to families and business folk who might need a good night's sleep! To have an... More

We found the hotel old and in need of refurbishment. Breakfast was too early at 8-8.30, the food wasn't very good, cheapest ingredients used I think but service was very friendly. Well situated for the beach, although a steep walk uphill from there, but there is a bus that stops right outside the hotel. Overpriced for quality of hotel.

A real old-school traditional hotel. Rooms nice, functional (quite a lot of chintz). Breakfast good and plentiful. Owner polite but not overly friendly (fine by me!). Feels a bit like staying with your grandparents!

The new owners: Jean and Brian Hart, were very welcoming and friendly and have updated the hotel slightly: still dated in the hallway and owner's lounge though. They accomodated my son's scrambled egg with very much friendliness. There was a good selection of food I was glad to see that the breakfast was at 8 which meant that we had... More

The Glenbourne Hotel advertises itself as 4 diamond guest accommodation. I’m not sure I would call it 4 Diamond, but if you are looking for a clean traditional seaside bed and breakfast, in a good location, it meets the mark. The furniture is dated, varied in style and not of the highest standard, but it is in working order. The... More
