This is our second stay at this wonderful guest house and we were not disappointed on our return. It's position on the main road makes it easy to get to so many beautiful places and traffic noise doesn't intrude in the rooms. The accommodation is attractively decorated and furnished and spotlessly clean. Everything we wanted in the room was provided.... More

I booked this guest house after reading other good reviews and if anything it was better! Friendly and informative hosts, spotlessly clean and comfortable, and really handy for nearby places of interest. We were given information regarding local places to eat which we followed up . There are two lounges and a bar so Churchview is as homely as a... More

Churchview Guest House in Winterbourne Abbas is a charming old stone house with all the architectural quirkiness one might expect. Churchview is on the main road but the noise hardly intrudes into the house – do not let it put you off. The village has a petrol station, Little Chef and a newly refurbished big pub, serving pub grub in... More

First impressions as I was greeted by Jane, the Hostess, was one of a refreshing change. Friendly, bright and utterly charming, I was shown where to park, where to eat that night, and given a tour around the guest house which is, I'm delighted to say, a wonderfully quirky and higgledy piggledy building, warm and comfortable with a friendly atmosphere.... I've just spent three nights here, part of a rural break with my ("I'm a rottweiler really") Yorkie, Heidi. The Owners, Jane and Mike were wonderfully helpful, even providing a bus timetable since I don't drive, giving good suggestions for local days out, loaning me a walking guide and they were really concerned to see we had a good stay.... The premises provides a comforatable night, is spotlessly clean, and has a warm welcome from the owners. The breakfast was fine and this is very convenient being close to Dorchester without the hassle of finding your way through the streets of that town. I will stay there again if working in that area.

Some friends and I stayed just the one night here and we were well looked after. The owner let us park our four motorcycles in his garage and then showed us our rooms in detail. Later, we had a good even meal at the pub nearby. Breakfast the next morning was perfect.

We arrived just after 4pm only to find front door locked, rang bell few times and rang phone to see if anybody ther, no answer. So went to bsck of house only to be confronted by rude bloke. And he also went on at length about parking, perhaps he did not appreciate the fact that I have been driving more... More

Stayed recently for a business trip. Parking available around the building, rooms inside clean and cosy with comfortable beds. Owner is very helpful and friendly, breakfast was lovely and rooms were quiet despite proximity to road. Only downside was the local pub being closed, but can't blame them for that and there are plenty of places to eat/drink within a... More

We were heading over for a family funeral and as it was fairly short notice, we were unsure where to book. One of my cousins recommended this B and B and so we booked it. They were very helpful on the phone when we called and gave us lots of advice and information. They ended up giving us a double... More
