The Royal Albion Hotel in Brighton is a Regency Style Hotel built in 1826 which offers a warm and friendly environment in a premier position directly opposite Brighton Pier. So, if you are looking for a seafront hotel in Brighton, you won't get much closer than this. Facing the sea, it's right at the heart of the action.
Never book directly with this hotel. Due to a fire, we were booked and promised a reimbursement, which never came. However our friends who booked by booking.com got refund within 5 days. Very bad communication from the hotel.

appalling. Stayed in 2012 for 2 weeks as house hunting. First night water poured through the ceiling in the bathroom. Moved. Had 5 rooms in 2 weeks. Every room was bad often electrics did not work and tripped constantly Lift often did not work. No wi fi.. Staff tried their best but the hotel was terrible. Management at Britannia could not care less. Complained to Head by email. Shocking. Would not stay in Britannia hotels ever again. Cost in excess of 2 thousand pounds. Not a penny back. trading Standards notified as tourist board

Room was far too airy, couldn't close the window, in fact there was no window - or outside wall. Smell of stale smoke everywhere and noisy demolition work going on constantly. A shell of its former self.

Horrible hotel with bad organization! After a long day of travel, given the arrival at the hotel which, by the way, the check-in would only be from 4pm onwards, we were faced with the loss of our reservation to which the said hotel director made no effort to help resolve the issue. situation! after being told to wait for several hours the answer was that they were still very busy, during the time we were waiting we found a lot of people who had changed their room, people who removed their clothes from the room without any notice to which even would know whereabouts. I do not recommend it at all!

A shame, Britannia hotels never again. We paid around £ 200 and they gave us a room that I didn't even want to stay for free… The rooms are small, some without a window, others stink of cigarette smoke, I think the receptionist was embarrassed and showed us another 6 rooms until we found one that was acceptable. We had already paid and canceling would make us late for our appointment. I just can't complain about the staff, on the contrary, all very kind and friendly, ready to solve any problem (they must be used to it).

Just got back from a 5 day trip with National Holidays to this hotel, stayed here 4 times now and never been disappointed at all, always had a room at the back of hotel and no problem with that at all but this time we had a sea view room with balcony. Room very clean and food was excellent breakfast and evening meal. Don’t understand the negative reviews given by some people but I suppose they want a cheap hotel but really want The Ritz and can’t afford it ! Position of the hotel is fabulous as it is right in the centre right across from Brighton Pier so when you go out for a walk everything is basically on your doorstep. Thanks to all the staff and will definitely be returning .

This hotel is worse than a hostel, the DM was so rude. We booked a number of room and it took us over an hour to check in. The hotel has its own crack alley outside at night and also the carpets, well you need to wipe your feet on the way out. The hotel is totally disgusting and if you want loads of noise at night and staff who don’t give a s##t, then this is the place for you.
