Stayed here in March for a short break. Our room was fairly basic with a small shower room but adequate for us. It overlooked the car park towards the main road. We didn't find the traffic noisy but later in the evenings you could hear people talking and laughing from the bar area below. The Inn itself was a bit... More

£63 per night b&b on the outskirts of Brighton. Rooms are a bit tired but still very clean, and the service is very attentive and efficient. The meals in the restaurant are also v good value, fast and not too bad quality either for an essentially fast food chain. Would recommend for a cheap no frills value stay in Brighton,... More

We stayed there for one night as we were visiting brighton for my brothers 50th birthday bash. Staff were very friendly and things like breakfast times were made very clear. We booked here because it was in the edge of town and had private free parking. Having lived in Brighton for many years I know that parking in-town can be... More

We have been going to The Black Lion for many years and they generally provide a tasty good value meal - either a steak, burger or chicken with chips or baked potato and free, help yourself salad. There are no great surprises here, either good or bad! The restaurant is often full -waiting in the bar! - which I guess... More

We arrived on Friday 25th November to stay until the Monday. We got there around midday and were booked in straight away . We were given Room 203, which was very large with the lovely bay window. The room did over look the A23 and the traffice did quiten down at night. There were two electric wall heaters in the... More

Arrived Sunday afternoon. Restaurant very busy but still had a personal pleasant welcome from the Manager. We were given 203, a bright, spacious and well equipped room overlooking the front and the A23 but as the traffic virtually stops at night, noise was never a problem. Breakfast is continental style but there was more than enough selection available. Even the... More

I would suggest readers avoid this hotel at all costs, unless price is your priority, in which you get what you pay for, a bed and very little else that works properly. We made our booking at this innkeepers lodge in May, and specifically requested room 201, which is huge and a lovely outlook. I spoke to the manager, who... More

Cold bedroom; shower room but no bath; no heated towel rail so freezing cold bathroom, bath towels much too small and too thin, noisy cold water pipe; the only bathroom accessories was an un-named bottle of green liquid - looked like washing up liquid; breakfast is pathetic continental. At these prices it's just a ripoff. Much better choice and better... More
