I was taken here as a birthday treat and we got the massage and facial which was nice enough. The girls doing the massages were friendly so for them I would give it a 3 star. But for the rest of the hotel, it's a definite 1. The hotel was very dated and shabby. We had a weird dimly lit... More

The staff made my stay very welcoming , I stayed in room 2 large room with a four poster bed and a balcony, did not manage to use the balcony due to the bad weather. The lanes and the shopping was great fun for me but not my husband! Great city will be back again.

Nicely greeted walk up to room nice decore couple bits not finished to perfection but that didn't bother us. Nice sized bathroom with bath. We stayed in an executive suite so not sure what the other rooms were like reading other reviews bit scared before we arrived. Overall good stay only problem we had was when bad weather windy rain... Firstly we got this hotel cheap via bookingdotcom and I wouldn't have paid any more than £50 for the room. The website seems to refer to a completely different hotel, it is nothing like the website and the lack of pictures is for a reason. The stairway is tired and shabby. Our double room was right at the top and... More

I have to agree with emily and say that you must avoid with all cost. Further to her discussion about the car parking rates and the blunt ignorance of the staff I overheard whilst we were there that he lied to another pertential customer over the phone regarding the parking charges. He said and i quote that. "there is no... More

Knowing where to start is difficult.. £55 a night, so cheap but not cheerful! The website appears to be advertising a completely different hotel. The late rooms booking confirmation detailed parking would be £1 p/h, when we arrived the reality was £3.50 an hour. When we questioned the man on reception he was very unhelpful and said the charges had... More

Not great. Overpriced and shabby. The ground floor has a contemporary feel but beyond here, the decoration is very poor. The stairs and corridors are tired, worn looking and in serious need of a complete revamp. My room was of poor quality and had several faults which I reported prior to leaving but I don't know if anything was done... More

Booked last minute as was chucked out of our last hotel for no good reason. Walked in. Nice contemporary bar. Check in quick with no probs. The trip up the stairs to our bedroom was entertaining. The stairwells were pretty grim and needed re decorating. The lock was dodgy on our door. You could fit your hand under the door... More

Found this place on booking.com as a last minute getaway for my boyfriend and I. A lot of places don't take a one night booking on a Saturday, so my options were quite limited. We booked a double room with sea views (Room 6). This apparantly used to be a Junior Suite. The room was lovely and big, with a... More

What a winter oasis! Excellent value for money, Urban House is ideally located, away from the hustle and bustle of The Lanes but within walking distance of the ocean, the Pier and great restaurants and pubs. The room was clean, well equipped and comfortable (very comfortable bed, great water pressure in the shower - two holiday must-haves!). The staff welcoming and... More
